Chancius Delivers Indie Rock, Concept Album With Sci-Fi Twist
The second, groundbreaking release from Brooklyn-based musician Chancius.
“Bando” is an Alternative Rock concept album with a sci-fi twist. Envisioned as an alternative rock opera, the album tells the story of Bando, a young man afflicted with a life-threatening disease. In an attempt to save himself, he volunteers for an untested procedure to meld his consciousness with cutting-edge technology. As his story unfolds, the ramifications of blending humanity with machinery are brought to life in sound.
And here’s my review – The album includes a total of 10 tracks.
1. Hold On – Somehow the first track reminds me of “Cars” by UK singer Gary Numan. It features a conventional rock rhythm section of bass guitars and drums. I like the vocal’s robotic style.
2. Making It Up As We Go Along – I’m loving the chimes at the intro, it’s almost impossible not to love this track. You will learn a new tong twister with it, lol.
3. Bando – A beautiful soft rock song. The piano calls to mind a melancholic sensation.
4. Pliers Donar – This track showcases Chancius as a fiercely accomplished musician, an original artist, and also an innovator of indie rock music.
5. A Piece Of You Wherever I Go – A catchy tune, you feel like singing it at your house. It’s one of the best songs in the album in my opinion.
6. Chrysalis – It seems this short melody of 57 seconds was truly inspired by a Sci-Fi film or novel.
7. Time And Space Died Yesterday – Here’s another futuristic and modern indie rock track. The music here is once again outdone by Chancius’ creativity.
8. Big Wave – As we listen to more tracks, we learn that Chancius is an adventurous artist who loves to experiment with music in order to create cool indie rock tunes. This song is a clear example of it!
9. You’re Not One In A Million, You’re One Of A Million – This is a smooth track, perfect for relaxing or having a good time.
10. Hologram King – Nice song, I heard interesting sounds from outer space! If you are a fan of MGMT music, you’ll love Chancius.
11. Thunderhead – Chancius vocals sound incredible here! He demonstrates a lot of talent from the beginning to the end.
