NASA Soundcloud Account Has Emerged!
NASA has opened its very own Soundcloud account – allowing us to listen to around 60 samples of missions over the years.
Whilst space is noiseless because sound can’t travel through a vacuum, the tracks on offer are more interesting anyway, with whizzes and beeps.
Those are alongside conversations held between astronauts and NASA personnel back on Earth.
The account already has nearly 19,000 followers and although comments have been disabled, space-minded DJs are sure to sample parts of tracks if they can.
Listen to some of the sounds below:
NASA said: “You can hear the roar of a space shuttle launch or Neil Armstrong’s ‘one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind’. Or, you can hear the memorable words ‘Houston, we’ve had a problem’, every time you make an error on your computer.”
