The idea of establishing a label like U-Bahn Collective which supports underground electronic music in Glasgow is now a reality. This was achieved thanks to producers and founders Liam James, Denizens and Polymer. All of them saw a need to expand the genre they love in their homeland. Of course, creating a label is always beneficial to let new talents being discovered, but even better if qualified professionals as U-Bahn Collective guide you through the process.
Turning now to the subject of this article, the label’s inaugural release revolves around deep and dark Techno music. Entitled as ‘UB 001’, the two-track EP was dropped in early July. On the first track, “4GBT” Polymer and Perspektive captured my attention in a hypnotic way. These guys use the Roland TB-303 acid sounds to take you on a journey somewhere far from reality. While “GGOW” produced by Liam James & Denizens, is loaded with Industrial influences, dark synth textures, and digitally altered vocals. In conclusion, here you have an incredible club material that is versatile for your DJ sets. I can’t imagine how good will be the next release, but we’ll have to wait until July 29th.
