is an innovative DJ and music producer that keeps surprising his listeners with powerful and fresh releases and outstanding weekly episodes of his increasingly popular radio show ‘Dark Signals’ which has found a special space on the airwaves. While preparing for a busy schedule of releases ahead, we sat down with him to get to know more about the hobbies, likes, and favorites of this enigmatic artist.

1 — What other hobbies do you usually get up to or would like to try?

I collect watches and vinyl toy art. Collecting watches satisfies two of my interests, fashion, and history. As a horologist, the thing that struck me most was the craftsmanship that goes into watchmaking. If you dive into horology, what you’ll soon realize is that many of the finest watchmakers are incredible designers. Look at the work of FP Journe, Hublot, Eric Giroud, and Jacob The Jeweller to name a few who are making unbelievable timepieces. I’ve been collecting vinyl toy art for many years now. Collecting vinyl toy art really grew out of my interest in art. There are so many artists whose work I would love to have but the cost just puts it out of reach. Vinyl toy art is a way to collect works by some of my favourite artists in an affordable way. When you really dig into it, you’re going to be amazed at all of the very talented artists who create vinyl toy art. My recent collection efforts have been by the artist Alex Pardee.

2 — Where is your favourite place to go for food?

In Kansas City, it would be Jerusalem Cafe and when I go home to Los Angeles, it’s Hungry Angelina.

3 — What can always put you in a good mood no matter what?

Getting in the studio and making music. No matter how bad my mood might be or how tired I might be, making music positively transforms my mood.

4 — Do you have a favourite sports team? If so, who?

The Los Angeles Lakers, without question. Growing up in LA they were the first team that I really gravitated to. It’s hard not to be a Lakers fan as many of the greatest basketball players the game has seen have been Lakers, not to mention that the team has won 17 NBA championships!

5 — How would you describe your perfect weekend?

I’d say, daytime in the studio followed by a very nice dinner, in the evening.

6 — If you could invite x3 people to dinner, dead or alive, who would they be and why?

Johan Johannsson, Tyler Bates, and Tom Holkenborg. As someone who would love to get into writing for pictures, whether that be for film or TV, having dinner with three of my all-time favourite composers would be unbelievable. The stories they could all tell as well as the real-world advice they could offer would make for an absolutely amazing dinner experience. How cool would it be to get a few of the trade secrets they all possess?

7 – If you could start over, what career would you love to have? (Other than music)

Stock trader, as I’m very interested in the stock market and the world of finance, in general.

8 — Who would you love to trade lives with for a day?

Tom Holkenborg, Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer, Charlie Clouser or Tyler Bates.

9 — Do you have any weird traditions or superstitions?

No, not really.

10 — Lastly, what one thing would you take with you to a desert island?

My computer and a solar rechargeable battery. The one device I could do everything on.
