Electro Wow Music Awards 2014
Check out the best songs of 2014…
This was a year with quite a few solid electronic music tracks and we count down the best of the year right here!
BEST TECHNO TRACK
Miss Kittin & Dubfire – Exit
The strong low-end Dubfire groove is evident once again on “Exit” as the pair playfully chop and reverse Kittin’s vocals, pushing and withdrawing the bass to allow her sultry vocals to shine.
BEST HOUSE TRACK
Kiesza – Giant In My Heart
“Giant In My Heart” is a House track sung in an emotive falsetto tone and features a combination of scat-singing, a pounding 808 and softer synth-led sections. Lyrically, the song focuses on subjects of love lost and the aftermath of a breakup.
BEST ELECTRO TRACK
Bobby Puma – Rockin With The Best
Channeling a deep, growling bassline during its build up, “Rockin With The Best” creates a palpable tension in the air before finally transitioning.
BEST DISCO TRACK
Joey Negro & Horse Meat Disco – Candidate For Love (Horse Meat Disco Mix)
With a clash of titans such as Disco House meister Joey Negro and awesome Bear Disco London Club Horse Meat Disco, a record like “Candidate For Love” was always going to be a top-notch belter, and well, it is!
BEST REMIX
Tiga vs. Audion – Let’s Go Dancing (Adam Beyer Remix)
Swedish Techno god Adam Beyer rolls in with a gigantic remix for Tiga, the first thing he’s done for the Canadian label since his Stockholm Mix Sessions CD back in 2002.
BEST ALBUM
Hercules & Love Affair – The Feast Of The Broken Heart
With this fantastic album, there is a distinct old-school House vibe running throughout, complete with firing synths, rough basslines and nasty sounding beats. There is an aggression to the music, which at times verges on Techno, but the band still manage to load the songs with plenty of emotion.
BEST MUSIC VIDEO
Tiga – Bugatti
