What’s The Difference Between A Telecaster And A Fender Stratocaster?

The question of which electric guitar to choose, the Tele or the Strat, is one of the most topical issues.

The question of which electric guitar to choose, the Tele or the Strat, is one of the most topical issues. The guitars from the Fender family have been among global leaders in the music market for more than half a century. Both of them have become icons of style and quality. In order to understand the difference between the Telecaster and Stratocaster, you should consider technical features of each model.

The Fender Telecaster and the Fender Stratocaster are electric guitars produced by one company. Both models are very popular in the music environment. However, they have some differences.

telecaster guitar
The Telecaster is a classic but effective model. It is the first of two brothers. It was released in 1950, while the Stratocaster entered the market four years later. They both are the best blues guitars.

The Fender Stratocaster is an electric guitar released in 1954. It is a modern guitar with advanced design. It immediately won the hearts of many famous artists. The Strat still does not lose its leading position in the music industry.

The blues sound of the Telecaster is achieved by switching the pickup to different positions. There are two of them: “bridge” and “neck”. The saturation of the sound changes due to a capacitor located on the tone control. The bridge position allows producing smoother sound, while the neck position produces sharper sounds.

Body Design

The Telecaster is designed with a single-coil pickup. The single-cutaway body design allows it to reproduce the pure vibrations of the guitar strings. This model with a solid body is demanding to produce a unique sound. Despite the fact that over half a century many other modern models have appeared, Tele is still popular with pop artists and blues musicians.

The Stratocaster has three single-coil pickups and double-cutaway body design. The back and resting place of the arm are beveled for a better fit to a musician’s chest and arms. There are also two cutouts to facilitate access to the upper frets.

fender stratocaster

The Stratocaster’s sound board is made of alder, and the Telecaster’s board is made of fir.

Unlike the Telecaster, its Fender brother is equipped with a tremolo cord holder.

The Advantage of the Telecaster

• Simplicity and smoothness of sounds;
• Unique bridge tone;
• Design that is devoid of unnecessary details and allows musicians to show all their skills and improvise without additional technical features;
• Versatility due to the variability of the pickup’s positions and different levels of the tone amplifier.

The Specificity of the Stratocaster

• The unique tone in a neck position;
• A variety of positions and combinations of the pickup;
• Availability of vibrato function in the model.

These are the main differences between the two guitars. Each of them will give wonderful moments to a skilled musician. Both models were used by famous musicians. Playing the Telecaster or Stratocaster, you can prove yourself in widely known genres (from pop to blues) or find your own style. So Tele or Strat? The choice is yours.

How Electronic Music Affect Your Academic Performance

How Electronic Music Affect Your Academic Performance
Almost every person likes to listen to music at least from time to time. Many students are fond of music and gladly listen to it when they do their homework. As a result, many educators claim that listening to music only distracts attention and lowers academic performance. On the contrary, other people think that listening to electronic music positively affects students. Therefore, we have decided to study this interesting case and share the results we have received.

We would like to notify that we don’t talk about music education. We concentrate on listening to any genre of music while students learn. However, a study conducted by Dr. Nina Kraus from Northwestern University shows positive outcomes for students. Music education helps to improve speech processing, reading skills, and recognition of words. Our article will shed some light on listening to music and not playing any musical instrument.

Positive Effects

First of all, we would like to assure you that electronic music has positive effects. They are manifested in different ways. A lot depends on the conditions, which were created while the studies were carried out. Personal preferences and moods of students ought to be included as well.

electronic music positive effects
This interesting method was studied in many countries. Many of them took place in India. The evidence shows that students combat stress faster and more effectively. It’s vital for proper focus on their academic tasks and duties. Besides, listening to music enhances concentration.

A series of researches in England also revealed positive outcomes for students and their performance. One took place in a Bradford primary school. Pupils listened to music six hours per week. The results were impressive. Some seven years ago, this school fell behind the country standards by 3.2%. After the implementation of music listening, the gains of pupils increased by amazing 74%! This point is even higher than the national average and beats it by 21%! Thanks to a proper focus on tasks, pupils get rid of distractions and clear their thoughts. Some musical compositions entertain them and improve mood. Accordingly, their brains work faster and more productively. The best achievements were reported in mathematics, writing, and reading.

Playing A Musical Instrument Is Good For Your BrainStudies conducted in the United States of America also show the healing power of electronic music. It affects the mental focus of people and improves their will. Students are more inspired and energetic. It becomes easier to focus on a concrete task without delays and losing attention. Although such lessons are not confirmed by the government, students can listen to music at home.
If you are surrounded by many annoying noises, putting on headsets and listening to your favorite music is a good way out. We want to pay your attention to the word “favorite”. Some researches reported a contrary outcome. Students didn’t gain anything at all because they were given music genres they don’t like.

Negative Effects

We cannot deny the results that show the opposite consequences. Listening to electronic music has negative consequences too. Students failed to maintain focus and couldn’t perform their assignments at all. The main issue was the genre of music. All people are different and have different musical tastes. Thus, 15 out of 30 students may love pop-music and the rest may prefer rock, rap, and other genres. Consequently, positive results will be reported in students who listened to their favorite music. Other participants had a decrease in academic performance.

It’s also utterly hard to read or memorize a poem if you listen to tracks with lyrics. Our hearing catches other words and automatically tries to focus on them too. As a result, everything goes a mess. Of course, students can gain a lot when they listen to their favorite tracks. Nevertheless, they aren’t allowed doing that on exams. Therefore, the recreation of the environment is impossible.

We can surely say that all the studies, which were conducted to investigate this matter, are insufficient. Studies that prove negativism from electronic music can be refuted due to the lack of consistent evidence. The same can be said about studies with positive outcomes. Why is this case so complicated?

There are too many factors, which affect the process of researching this method. Most of these factors are uncontrolled. Some assignments and subjects can be easily accompanied by musical supervision. Other assignments and more complex subjects lead to the worsening of academic performance.

Susan Hallam and Carey Godwin say that one should take into account the mood of students, their personal music choices, age, learning abilities, and so on. However, we also understand that listening to music may help students to gain better results. Future studies will surely shed more light on this particular issue.

In case even music cannot help you to manage your assignments, use professional essay writing help online. There is a round-the-clock essay writing service which helps international students to write papers of the highest quality. We also provide many other vital benefits and conveniences to ensure their academic progress. You won’t regret if you choose us.

Listening to music while we learn has two possible outcomes. It will either help to gain more or willfully distract you. Everything depends on a person, a concrete assignment, an academic subject, the environment, and a few other factors. It is disallowed during classes but if it brings positive effects for you, apply this method when you do your homework.

Top 5 Logos Of Solo Artists

Top 5 Logos Of Solo Artists
How can a logo allude to a popular music video? Can you trademark the “play” button? Discover the secrets behind the top logos of solo artists.

Here, we will not discuss the logos associated with music bands but rather the emblems that belong to solo artists.

The logo introduced in 2013 appears to be the best one the artist has introduced so far. While it is hardly legible (which is not that good), it is also mesmerizing or even hypnotizing – you cannot help staring at the logo trying to figure out its meaning, to read it starting from the initial letter and from the final one, in this direction and in that direction. Your eye gets trapped and keeps going forward and backward. The reason is that the second “E” has been replaced by its mirror reflection. Two more unusual things about this logo are that both the “M’s” have one of their vertical bars covered by that of another letter (“N” and “E”). This also changes the direction of your eye movement and somehow affects the way you perceive the wordmark.

The earlier logo looked pretty generic in comparison with it, especially the original one (1996). It was only on the 2000 logo that the artist dared to change the direction of the second “E,” which has been his visual signature ever since. You can learn more about the history of the Eminem logo on the 1000logos website.

The logo featured on the cover of the album “This Is Acting” is the one that catches your eye with its uneven shape, nervous dynamism, and emotional turbulence. The moment you get a closer look, you notice the letters are not just letters – they represent a female figure. Her moving style looks very much like the dancer from the Chandelier music video, Maddie Ziegler. You can see the now-iconic wig, which has also become a sort of material logo for Sia herself.

While this might be not the most memorable or unique symbol, it is definitely among the most discussed and controversial ones.

It first appeared on the cover of the album the “New Power Generation.” According to Prince, the emblem was a combination of symbols for male and female, and it also represented alchemy’s soapstone symbol. He later copyrighted it under the name of “Love Symbol #2.”

prince logo
The reason why the logo caused controversy was that in 1993 Prince officially adopted this unpronounceable symbol as his stage name and started printing it on his album covers instead of his name. This move was part of the rebellion against Warner Bros., which did not agree to release the artist’s music at a steady pace. Soon, everyone started calling him “Artist Formerly Known as Prince” or just the “Artist.”

Jennifer Lopez

Here, we are talking about the logo of the lifestyle brand J.Lo, which was founded by Jennifer Lopez in 2001.

The current version features the larger letters “J,” “L,” and “O” creating a sort of picture together. While the “J” looks perfectly normal, the “L” has an elongated horizontal bar, which seems to embrace the square “O.”

Jennifer Lopez logo
To make it easier to understand who the logo belongs to, the designers who worked on it placed the lettering “by Jennifer Lopez” below. There is also an intricate ornamental element under the wordmark.

While AVICII is probably the least known artist in the list, his logo is impressive and stylish. AVICII, whose real name was Tim Bergling, used this emblem throughout his career until his death in the spring of 2018.

The way the artist’s name is given on the logo catches your eye. The letters “A” and “V” look like a mirror reflection of each other, and their diagonal angular shape leaves a dynamic and edgy impression. The two triangles below not only continue the motif started by the typography but also hint on the music theme.

5 Interesting Ways Music Can Help You Sleep

5 Interesting Ways Music Can Help You Sleep
Unfortunately, insomnia is constantly on the rise and an increasing number of people cannot sleep without the help of prescription medicine.

However, there are alternatives. Soothing music and lullabies are well-known for putting babies to sleep. Nevertheless, you may be surprised to learn that more and more adults are using this method to unwind and fall into a deep and relaxing sleep.

Putting on the right tracks can help you fall asleep faster, as well as wake up less during the night. You’ll also feel more energized or upbeat when you wake up. What’s not to love?

Before we delve into the benefits of music for sleep, let’s find out why getting a good night’s rest is important.

Why Is Sleep Important?

Sleep is important for many aspects of our health. Elevated blood pressure for long periods is known to increase the risk of stroke. Since sleep lowers your blood pressure, it can give your vital organs and arteries a much-needed rest.

In addition, adequate sleep is vital to proper brain function, immune health, hormone balance, and metabolism. It also plays a key part in the storing of memories. When we consider all of these benefits, it’s clear that getting the right amount of sleep can make a huge difference in your quality of life.

5 Interesting Ways Music Can Help You Sleep

There are many reasons why music helps you to get a great night’s kip. So, before you turn in to bed this evening, read the following 5 ways music can give you an advantage when it comes to achieving quality shut-eye.

1. Slows Your Heart Rate

As you approach the sleeping state, your heart rate slows to around 50-60 beats per minute. When you relax and listen to music which has a slow beat to it, your brain picks this up and seems to encourage your heart rate to match. The sooner your heart rate falls to this range, the quicker you are likely to fall asleep.

2. Calms the Mind

Aside from soothing, slow beats, listening to familiar music has been proven to help calm the mind. Much like most things your mind is used to, familiar music is non-stimulating, comforting and doesn’t require any active listening. Why not make your own playlist and use these tracks to fall asleep to.

People who start listening to new types of music to achieve better sleep may not feel the benefit immediately. This is because your mind has to become accustomed to it first. You may have to give it a couple of weeks for you to feel its effects.

3. Fewer Sleep Disturbances

It has been suggested that people who listen to music before sleeping also report fewer instances of waking up during the night.

This is likely because the brain has been sufficiently lulled into a deep, calm state before falling asleep. Because of that, there’s a higher chance you’ll wake up in a better mood and have increased brain function throughout the day.

4. Lowers Stress Levels

Listening to relaxing music at any time of day can bring down stress levels. Instrumental music, particularly string-instrument based ones, can lower stress and anxiety. Therefore, listening to music before bed can help to melt away the worries you had during your day, reduce any troubling thoughts and allow you to drift off peacefully.

5. May Reduce Pain

Incredibly, studies have shown that listening to music can help to reduce pain.

Obviously, if you are suffering from pain, getting a good night’s sleep is likely to evade you. What’s worse, lack of sleep can increase stress levels and damage your body’s ability to deal with pain – leading to a vicious circle!

Experts are still unsure how music helps to alleviate pain, but it is probably linked to the manner in which music encourages the body to release the ‘happy hormones’ oxytocin and dopamine. No matter how it works, if you struggle to get to sleep due to pain and discomfort, you should definitely try listening to music before bed.

A large percentage of the population face a nightly battle when it comes to falling and staying asleep. If you are one of these people, you’ll know all too well how a lack of sleep can negatively impact your day.

Thankfully, music offers a simple and drug-free solution to a good night’s kip. Listening to soothing melodies before bed can help to slow the heart rate, relax the body and mind and even work to alleviate pain.

So, next time you’re getting ready for bed, switch on your speaker or grab your headphones to enjoy the best sleep you’ve ever had!

Developing That Well-Rounded Quality

Developing That Well-Rounded Quality
In the performing arts, it’s often implied that to be the best, you need to be a super-specialist. While this advice might be applicable when you reach the very top of your performances and popularity, during your earlier days, it may actually be more useful to you to be a well-rounded performer instead of a specialist. Specializing can work brilliantly, but often, there are some problems with this.

Firstly, being well-rounded will allow you to develop your skills in multiple areas, and see which one you’re actually best at in front of your audiences. Secondly, building up a well-rounded skill set will allow you to see things from other performers’ points of view, and will enable you to work better with other creative people to collaborate on the big projects. Thirdly, rounding out your skills will help you to possibly discover talents you may have neglected or never even thought about due to being too close to the situation.

Where You Really Shine

Sometimes, your ultimate talent isn’t going to be as visible to an audience as it is to you. While it would be great if you became famous, acclaimed, and extremely well-compensated for what you think you do best, often, this just isn’t the case in life. Where you really shine might not be where the audience thinks you really shine, and they have more votes than you do early in your career.

Exploring new instruments, such as your voice, can help you to figure out what the people want so you can give it to them really well. Sometimes, your best talents are the ones you never considered to be your best.

Working as a Group

One of the most powerful parts of being a creative professional is a thing that’s called synergy. When two or more people who are each excellent in their own rights trust one another, they can play off of each other’s abilities and make something far better than either one could have done all on their own. This is often why musicians start bands, because each person is excellent at their part of things.

learn to sing better
It’s far too easy to get caught up in all of the ego, and to presume that everyone else’s work is nowhere near as difficult or skill-intensive as one’s own. But then, you have to carry a certain level of respect for your fellow artists if you’re ever going to make some of the best art there is. This means you have to be able to appreciate things like sound, visual design, and even learn to sing better to get how a vocalist’s life is.

Finding Your Best

Your best work may be something you never even considered doing. If you’ve been hyper-focused on one aspect of your creative life, it may seem troubling to think that you may have ignored your highest talent. The thing is you can always uncover new skills that might help you create that much better.
