Rapper Shug Jackson Hits With New Single “Congratulation”

Rapper Shug Jackson Hits With New Single "Congratulation"
Rapper Shug Jackson came into prominence back in the nineties when he released his first album for Def Jam Records, titled, “86 the Madness” (receiving four mics in the Source magazine).

After a decade of releasing a slew of catchy and lyrical songs, he is back on the scene with a new hit single and video called “Congratulation.”

With rampant gang violence in Chicago and race relations at the forefront of the upcoming presidential election, the song hits a current note and expresses the collective pain of street violence.

It features an inspiring hook from Walt Anderson with poignant lyrics from Shug that hit so hard his voice echoes with a deep vibrato which sounds like Kool Moe Dee mixed with 50 Cent.

Due to his recent reclaimed success and fierce entrance back into the rap game, Hollywood is taking notice. A biopic film is being developed that will capture the trajectory’s of Shug’s life, including a 1995 altercation where he was stabbed within an inch from his heart and practically died on the operating table. Three months after his recovery, more tragedy ensued as he was in a car accident and broke his neck in three places. Once again Shug recovered, and the same year his first child was born.

It only is getting better for the surviving and thriving rap star. His second hit single “It Only Gets Better” has grabbed the attention of a host of stellar independent and major labels.

Looks like Shug needs to keep those sunglasses on. His future is bright.

Morsifire Brings Emotional Music Into The World, Listen To “Contact” Ft. Emily Afton

Morsifire
& Emily Afton join forces on new single “Contact”. This fresh song has already turned the heads of a number of indie music fans. Definitely, a trained ear will recognize there’s a perfect blend of Rap and a Pop/Rock melody playing in the background. The San Francisco-based artist whose real name is Andrew Seely opts for honest lyrics in each of his compositions. With “Contact” he brings out his most intimate emotions as it is a tribute to his deceased sister.

As a result, I really like how his art can help us to reflect on deep existential questions we all have. Furthermore, this track is almost therapeutic not only for the artist himself but for everyone who might be living similar circumstances. Give it a try above and listen carefully to its message. On a side note, Morsifire puts his heart and pain into more personal songs that will form part of his upcoming album, ”Metanoia’, due out 10-11-19. Mikey LikesToday the Hip-Hop community is still riddled with talent, and Mikey Likes is a prime example of this. Definitely, he has put his name on the map particularly with jazzy lo-fi beats. As he quickly rises to the top, he’s navigating the waters with the right flow. Influenced by Dom Kennedy, Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa, Drake, J Cole, among others, The LA-based artist never loses his good sense of humor. Actually, besides being into the world of urban music, he’s also a natural comedian. Clearly, creativity has no limits for him, nor the subjects depicted in his songs. Hip-Hop isn’t only a culture but also a lifestyle, so his rap verses can be described as motivational, funny, sexy, and at times odes to materialism. Discover his clever wordplay and good lyrical imagination on his latest single “The Nucleus”. Make sure you press play right here!

From an early age, Xero discovered his innate talent for music. The Detroit native Hip-Hop/R&B artist who resides in Charlotte, NC, is known for his super fire flow. Nowadays, he’s taking over the urban scene pushing himself harder like never before. He tries to emulate a similar style as heavyweights 2 Pac, Jay Z, Zedd, Kendrick Lamar, and more. However, Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopes is what truly motivated him to create his own melodies. On the other hand, in almost all his records, versatility forms part of his high-level productions.

Stream in full his 6-track EP, entitled ‘CAP’ and watch the new music video for the single “Monster” below.

VAN KING
Kevin Kozo aka VAN KING is a rising artist from Toronto, Canada whose forte seems to be RnB. You have to be ready to embrace his catchy and refreshing debut single “Tell Me”. There’s no doubt, this is one of those tunes you can sing in the shower or having on repeat while driving. If that’s not indication enough he’s on a roll, consider the way he sings and the creativity behind the storyline of this song.

Moreover, I think KING is already prepared for global stardom as a solo Producer. However, I can’t wait to explore his upcoming collaborative projects with Brazilian artist Ary Franklin, and Ottawa rapper Affy. Without further ado, “Tell Me” is definitely worth the listen.
