While most actors are celebrated for their starring roles, there are those who’ve become just as famous for their off-screen behaviour as party animals. Taking part in a hedonistic lifestyle where drugs, booze, and nightly sex romps are the norm, here’s our look at some of Hollywood’s bad boys who’ve indulged in the seedier side of fame.
Eighties’ heartthrob Lowe was an infamous member of the “Brat Pack,” a group of young actors who became close after starring in multiple teen films together. Most of them were regulars in the L.A. party scene, and Lowe was known to have engaged in a friendly competition with Charlie Sheen about who could party the hardest. After a number of years struggling to get back in the Leonardo Dicaprio limelight, Lowe finally revived his career with a role on The West Wing, and has had numerous standout roles since.
His filmography is sketchy at best, but when it comes to fulfilling his potential on the town, few actors have embraced the party life like Farrell. The Irish-born lad made his name with a string of Hollywood blockbusters in the early 2000s, followed by years of battling drug and alcohol addiction. Along with being a regular on the party scene, Farrell dated a bevy of high-profile beauties including Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie, Demi Moore, and Playboy model Nicole Narain, who released a sex tape of her and Farrell in 2006. We are still wondering what season two of True Detective was all about, so maybe Farrell put something in our drink?
This guy is the epitome of Hollywood party monster. Unfortunately for all of us, his rambunctious and irresponsible social life has overshadowed the 51-year-old actor’s successful film and TV career. Sheen’s battled both drug and alcohol addiction, is a vocal advocate of escort agencies, and has dated a string of well- known actresses and porn stars. But it was his live television meltdown after being fired from Two and a Half Men that highlighted how crazy Sheen really is. His 2011 rant included a verbal attack on producer Chuck Lorre and a claim he has “tiger blood” flowing through him, and produced the now-infamous hashtag “#winning.” Since then, Sheen has been diagnosed as HIV positive and has tried to stay relatively controversy-free, but his legacy won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
Leo is perhaps one of the most long- standing of all Hollywood’s true partiers, holding on to the title for more than 20 years. After breaking into the mainstream with Titanic in 1997, DiCaprio and his “Pussy Posse” (magician David Blaine and actor friends Tobey Maguire, Lukas Haas, and Kevin Connolly were other members) did as they pleased in the nineties’ club scene. As DiCaprio’s star rose, he found himself moving in different circles and hooking up with some of the sexiest women in the world. His fondness for models resulted in long-term relationships with Gisele Bundchen and Bar Refaeli, while also being linked to the likes of Rihanna, Blake Lively, and Naomi Campbell. Now an Oscar winner and a respected member of the Hollywood pantheon, Leo is one of Hollywood’s biggest lotharios.
