The Wonderful George Michael Incursion Into Electronic Dance Music

The Wonderful George Michael Incursion Into Electronic Dance Music
George Michael
was not only a Pop icon, he also had an incursion into electronic dance music. Honestly, I began to like his music in the 2000s and I thought in the upcoming years he was supposed to continue his career with a new trendy album, but sadly he is no longer with us. The purpose of this article is to make clear that he secretly loved club music and there are two specific songs that were a hit in the dance music charts that you probably don’t remember…

His first attempt into electronic dance music was “Flawless (Go To The City)”, released in 2004. In those times, the use of the vocoder effect was the secret formula to make your song sound cool. Some time later, vocoders were highly criticized in music. Well, I think this is a futuristic dance song due to the robotic voice of George Michael and it’s also a truly timeless tune.

Next, I remember he continues with the electronic music genre with a song called “White Light” and produced in 2012. This one could be described as Electro Pop than dance music. “White Light” was inspired by Michael’s illness in late 2011 with pneumonia and somehow you can see how he recreates his tragic experience in the video below.

This Is What Happens When Tove Love & Kylie Minogue Create Music Together
It is no secret “Really Don’t Like U” is everyone’s favorite track off Tove Lo‘s 2019 album ‘Sunshine Kitty’. The adorable Kylie Minogue collaborates with the Swedish top singer and the result is truly eargasmic. The pair’s sexy vocals meld together over a catchy Electro-Pop melody. Furthermore, you can sense the dramatic tension that evokes the lyrics as it talks about seeing your ex dancing with someone else. I swear I can’t stop watching the lyric video for this new single. Frankly, “Really Don’t Like U” is easily memorable and impossible not to like it. What do you think?

Han Chien Leow
At just 19 years old, Han Chien Leow aims to dominate the scene between Electro-Pop and Chill Trap. Hailing from Malaysia, this young artist proves “Brave” is one of his best singles to date. Without a doubt, it will be well received on an international scale because of its radio-friendly lyrics. Nonetheless, it’s also worth noting the great emotion of the vocals over a poppy dark melody.

In addition, excellent chord progressions, modern beats, and drops let this track speak for itself. For sure, it’s difficult to question his innate talent for producing gems. In his early career, Han Chien Leow has managed to secure releases from BrednButter (Trap City x Far East Movement Label), Black Sunset Music and Absent Mind Records. That being said, you can expect more surprises in the near future. Just don’t forget to stay tuned on his socials!

Thamatic
are true stars in the making. Combining experimental music, Electronica and even Pop, here you have a futuristic new track entitled “Spacesuit”. For some absolutely chilled out vibes, be sure to peep their latest clip below. The first thing that comes to mind when listening to this composition is a science fiction film. As a matter of fact, lyrics revolve around the story of a man, God, and technology. Strange as it may seem, innovations ahead frighten certain people. Undoubtedly, high-tech will shape the future, so this song leads us to question ourselves about the world of tomorrow.

To say it in plain English, the story behind this tune is compelling and thought-provoking. Currently, Thamatic are working on a music video for “After School”, which will feature some interesting helicopter scenes. What’s more, their upcoming record ‘The Final Album’ will come straight out of the oven soon. Most of their new songs were produced in collaboration with Sean O’Keefe who is partly responsible for Fall Out Boy, Plain White T’s and Ed Sheeran’s hits. Stay tuned for more news!
