The New Bisquits Project Signed Record Deal With DMN Records
The Biquits is a Bulgarian dance band founded in 1995. “Ghaidi (Welcome To Bulgaria)” was the first single featuring the sound of an authentical Bulgarian music instrument big pipe. This track had a success in 1996, being the official Hymn at Euro Games ’96 for the Bulgarian national Soccer Team. The dutch company ToCo International signed it for distribution and released it in different compilations for 36 contries.
The Bulgarian traditional folklore voices and instruments like ghaida (big pipe), kaval and tambura, mixed with dance music, became a trademark of the band and the following singles released until the end of the 90’s “Goro”, “Horo”, “Kaval”, “The Return” were sticked to this style.
After some years of silence and changes in the team, the band has edited the name to The New Bisquits Project and its currently presented by DJ Tisho. In 2016 the brand new album “DG / BG” (“Digital / Bulgarian”) was released for the 20th anniversary. A new chapter started in their history signing a contract with the German dance label DMN Records for worldwide distribution. Two singles were released with the voice of the traditional folklore female singer Nikoleta: “Bela Beka” and “Mari Mariiko”. The releases ware supported with great Deep House/Ethno remixes and reached the Top 100 of the Swiss and Austria Dance Charts.
