Dr. Shiver Releases The Unplugged & Funky "Something" On Protocol
The latest member of the Protocol Recordings family is an Italian producer by the name of Dr. Shiver, and he delivers on his namesake with his new release “Something.” Dr. Shiver showcases his ability to bring together nostalgic and modern influences on “Something,” which features soulful vocals by Kazi. With its funky guitar riffs and complex melodies paired with vocals that sound straight from a blues club, we promise you’ve never heard anything quite like this before. Dr. Shiver teamed up with some very talented musicians to give “Something” its authentic, raw sound. As a master sound engineer, Dr. Shiver meticulously crafted “Something” to sound unplugged and vintage, as if the track could be played live instead of electronically created. “This track really represents every one of my artistic sides,” says Dr. Shiver. “As a pianist and hammond player my origins are based in the blues, funky, soul and black music and in this tune you can really feel my musical background in every note, melody and chord progression.” With the addition of Dr. Shiver to its already-diverse roster, Protocol Recordings continues to expand its imprint and explore new sounds, keeping the label at the forefront of cutting-edge music.

Bruno Carlo Oggioni, better known as Dr. Shiver, is a man of many talents who wears many hats. His titles include producer, musician, sound engineer, DJ, label manager and record studio owner. Dr. Shiver’s focus wasn’t always on electronic music, however: he began his career in the classical spectrum, playing piano and hammond, where he worked with legendary musicians like BB King, Pharrell Williams, Little Louie Vega and more before turning his sights to conquering the dance music scene. In 2015, he released his first official remix for “You Got the Love” with the Candi Staton’s original vocal from 1986. Dr. Shiver’s remix soared to the Number Five on the UK pop chart and was used as the soundtrack to the Tomorrowworld aftermovie. With support from the likes of Nicky Romero, Benny Bennassi, Tiesto, David Guetta, Don Diablo and more industry heavyweights, he will continue to make waves as a member of Protocol Recordings. Dr. Shiver will be playing at the Protocol showcase during the Amsterdam Dance Event on October 18th, so don’t miss his one-of-a-kind live performance if you’re attending ADE!

“Hit The Floor” produced by the Lyonbrotherz might take you to directly to Bass music heaven. Once again the German EDM duo made up by cousins Daniel Lyon & Keven Lyon join forces with Greenskiez, and they point again into hard knocking drums. If you are a DJ, you should consider including “Hit The Floor” for your next set because it’s undoubtedly a catchy smasher. I believe the outcome will be quite entertaining whether you play it in a club or at a festival. Party animals will immediately love the chopped vocal samples, quirky synths, tasty sound effects, and its pounding nature. Lyonbrotherz are currently working on a new banger that will be released soon, so keep an eye out!

Paris Hilton Returns With Her Worst Ever EDM Track, “Best Friend’s Ass”

Best Friend's Ass
I have nothing against Paris Hilton, but her newest single “Best Friend’s Ass” sounds really bad. Believe it or not, she hired Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike to produce the worst ever EDM track of 2019. Explicit lyrics are complete nonsense and it is built around a repetitive monotonous beat. Sincerely, I was expecting to hear an authentic club track from the duo and the hotel heiress, but this is just commercial stuff that will hurt your ears. Actually, the tune is going viral because Kim Kardashian makes a cameo in the clip. Watch it down here, and get your own conclusions…

By

Navarra
Dutch DJ and Producer Navarra is back on Protocol Recordings for the first time in two years with his new single “Repeat”, an upbeat and groovy Big Room tune that perfectly exemplifies the energetic and uplifting ethos of the genre. Drawing upon ethereal vocals, groovy melodies, and a bouncy bassline, Navarra merges electronic and pop elements to expertly deliver a track that is both emotive and dancefloor-friendly. “Repeat” pivots back into the EDM realm following Navarra’s 2018’s electronic-pop releases “Live Like This” with Justin Mylo and “Beautiful Day” with Cara Melin, or his 2016’s “Crossroads” – a collaboration with Nicky Romero himself. Press play on “Repeat” and let Navarra’s atmospheric melodies sweep you away.

Cityzen
The newest project from R3HAB‘s CYB3RPVNK imprint comes in the form of the mysterious Cityzen, an artist who exists in the parallel of past and future and whose sound is a reflection of all that has been and all that will be. Cityzen introduces himself to the world with the release of his debut track “Sirius”, a driving Big Room timebomb that merges gravelly bass and retro vocal snippets with high-energy modern synths to make a unique, dancefloor-friendly track that will delight both veterans and novice fans of electronic music. Keep an eye out for the next drop from CYB3RPVNK’s newest family member, and perhaps the most intriguing one yet!

STREAM/DOWNLOAD

Although not much is known about Cityzen yet, we can be extremely positive about three noticeable attributes: his affinity for the color red, unique glasses, and his desire to give people the intense beats that one would imagine hearing on the metallic streets of a futuristic metropolitan. Perhaps Cityzen (aka СИТИЗЕН) can live in the past and the future at the same time, giving him the ability to merge vintage hardware like Moog synthesizers with futuristic house rhythms of the modern age. If “Sirius” is any indication, Cityzen is on the verge of something huge and previously unimagined, and all the world can do is wait. Armed with his sparkling glasses and affinity for the color red, Cityzen brings to life a crossover of old and new that will become the unique sound of the next generation.
