Exfoliation
While exfoliation does help your skin look fresh and radiant, proper knowledge about the process can help you get better results from the procedure. And to help you out with it, we take a look at five tips that can get you the maximum benefit from exfoliation.

Don’t Over-Exfoliate

You should be wary of exfoliating your skin too much. If you do over-exfoliate, then your skin will also overcompensate for whatever damage the process does. So, if you exfoliate dry skin too much, then the skin can become even drier. And if you over-exfoliate the oily skin, then the skin can eventually become oilier. So, how do you know if you are over-exfoliating? If you notice that the skin is reflecting more light, or there is a sudden upsurge of acne breakouts, or the skin generally looks puffy, then it is a sign that you may be over-exfoliating. The only way to avoid such complications is by ensuring that you only do exfoliation about two times a week. And if you have a habit of use exfoliants every time you hit the shower, then you must immediately desist from doing so.

Body Exfoliation

If you only exfoliate your face, then you are doing a disservice to your body. Given that you know exfoliation helps the facial skin look better, why not use exfoliation on the rest of the body? It is unfortunate how many women seem to only focus on the face and disregard their body. And if you are one of them, then change your habits and exfoliate your body too. You only have to do a whole body exfoliation once a week, and can still get good results.

keep in shape
Dry Exfoliation

Do you exfoliate your face while it is dry? Then you must immediately stop doing so since it is a bad practice. Exfoliating the dry skin on other parts of the body may produce good results, provided you do so with the right products. But when it comes to the face, you must never exfoliate it when dry. Instead, take some water and rinse your face before the exfoliation. Else, you may have to suffer from rashes on your face.

Moisturize

If you are not moisturizing your skin after exfoliating it, then you are losing out on taking the full benefit of exfoliation. Since you are removing the dead skin cells, the skin might get irritated as a result. And even if you don’t see any immediate effects, the skin will only look better in a very limited way. But if you do apply a moisturizer after exfoliation, then it will lock the moisture inside the skin, making it look more lively and radiant.

Try Natural

If you don’t have an exfoliation product available with you, but still wish to do the process, then you can do it using baking soda. Just mix it with water and apply as usual to exfoliate the skin. But remember that this is just a temporary solution in case you do not have any exfoliation products with you. And remember to check out exfoliate.com, which can provide you with even more tips on how to correctly exfoliate skin, when to exfoliate, and so on.
