4 Ways To Make Your Costume Party The Party Of The Year

Costume Party
The best thing about a costume party is that it lets you step outside of your comfort zone – risk-free.

Hidden under your costume, you can try out a new personality, give in to your alter-ego, and just act differently.

So when you’re throwing a costume party, you want to make sure it’s absolutely perfect.

Here are four ways that’ll guarantee your costume party is the party of the year.

1. Planning a Theme

It’s one thing to just have a costume party, but choosing a theme will really take it to another level.

That’s because once you have a theme, the food, music, costumes, and ambiance can all mesh together for the perfect party atmosphere.

Some ideas to consider are:

● The classic masquerade party
● A sports theme
● Time periods, like a 60s-themed party

Choosing a theme everyone will love is the first step towards having a great costume party.

Or you can go for an ultra-fancy theme like a Medieval party where everyone gets to dress up as kings, queens, princes, princesses, lords, ladies, knights, monks, and serfs. Pull out all the stops by donning an intricately designed ball gown fit for a blue-blooded princess from the Middle Ages.

2. Have Prizes

Some people may be too shy to wear an over-the-top costume.

That’s where prizes come in.

Having prizes people will actually want will motivate everyone to wear their best costume to the party.

Plus, it’s another way to tie into our first tip, and stick with the theme.

3. Get the Word Out

It’s best to send out invitations two months in advance.

Nowadays, a great way to do this is by setting up an event on Facebook.

You can easily see everyone that’s RSVP’d. At the same time, you can put a clear description so everyone knows it’s a costume party with a specific theme.

Another reason using Facebook is helpful is because when someone sees a few of their friends have agreed to go, they’re more likely to want to go to. This will help make your costume party the biggest event of the year.

If you or your friends don’t really use Facebook – you could use traditional, mail invitations, or just send out some texts.

If you go this route, what’s important is to have a clear way for people to respond to the invitation. This will make it easy to keep track of everyone who’s coming.

4. Have the Best Costume

This is your party, after all. Set the tone by having the best costume there.

For example, if you’re having a sports-themed costume party, check out this cheerleader costume.

Your costume should be something like that. Consistent with the theme and one-hundred percent dressed up. Don’t take a cheap way out and just wear a mask with your regular clothes, or something like that.

A costume party is a great way to get out of your comfort zone and tap into your alter ego, or try on a different personality.

So when you throw a costume party, you want to make sure everyone goes all out.

If you follow the four tips in this article, you can feel rest assured that your costume party will be the biggest party of the year.
