It’s impossible to predict what the dynamic duo The Funk Hunters will create next, and this time they’re throwing it back with a fresh take on a familiar anthem with their new track “Party Rockin'”. The second release from their upcoming album draws some inspiration from the Bboyism breakdancing trend and infuses it with jazzy instrumental toplines, adds a bouncy beat and polishes off the package with that catchy vocal riff. “Party Rockin” is exactly what it’s supposed to be – a lighthearted, energetic trip back to the disco ages that will have dance floors packed around the globe. This track follows their first release from the album, “Turn Down the Silence,” which encapsulated a budding summer romance with its inspiring, groovy vibe. With two very different singles out this year so far, The Funk Hunters have certainly proven their prowess as musical chameleons. Their album promises to be full of sonic delights, so stay tuned for the drop!
The Funk Hunters was born when Nick Middleton and Duncan Smith met while attending film school in Canada, and ever since has been both a studio project and live juggernaut ever since. In a sea of carbon-copy producers, the duo has cultivated their signature sound by creating forward-thinking electronic music that is influenced by old-school soul, funk and hip-hop. Their vision has resonated with both listeners and industry tastemakers alike, with their music amassing over 10 million track streams from their original productions, remixes, and collaborations. The Funk Hunters have been honored with official remixes for artists across the spectrum of both popular and underground music, including Imagine Dragons, Selena Gomez, Big Gigantic and Gramatik. Their chemistry as a duo is perfectly aligned, with Middleton steering their studio and production efforts while Smith heads their live shows with a captivating charisma that has landed them at Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, Electric Forest, Burning Man and more. On the cusp of a new year and so much brand new music, 2018 is aligning to be the most monumental year yet for The Funk Hunters.

You Can Relive The 70s With A Wonderful Disco-Infused Track From Mark Ronson
If you were lucky enough to live in the 70s, then this music video from Mark Ronson & Lykke Li will bring you good memories.
If you were lucky enough to live in the 70s, then this music video from Mark Ronson & Lykke Li will bring you good memories. In fact, you are about to love their nice collaborative single called “Late Night Feelings”. A wonderful Disco-infused track featuring sexy vocals that sound sexy and seducing. Somehow, it reminds me of Roisin Murphy’s good old classics. On the other hand, the vintage-looking clip stars Li alone at home thinking desperately about that special one… So take a glass of wine, play this song on repeat and dance all night long. Ronson’s forthcoming album will feature more funky-esque anthems, plus, he has confessed this record is inspired by his recent divorce.

Best Groovy Dance Song Of 2019, “Casio” By Jungle
Everybody seems to love this song, even my father has danced to its four-on-the-floor beat.
Everybody seems to love this song, even my father has danced to its four-on-the-floor beat. “Casio” by Jungle is the best groovy dance song of 2019. With an Earth, Wind, & Fire vibe, you can feel its amazing energy. On the other hand, the London-based band released a vintage-looking video, which is already a hit, surpassing 13 million YouTube views. In the clip, dancers are absolutely precise with their moves on the dancefloor. Somehow, this choreography is contagious as it invites you to imitate a fantastic sequence of movements. “Casio” is a piece of work that deserves so many more eyes, ears, and clicks.

Enjoy Arlin & Michel Gonzalez’s 7-Track EP ‘Green Light’ — LISTEN
There are so many good songs on ‘Green Light’, a 7-track EP from Miami-based artists Arlin (singer) & Michel Gonzalez (instrumentals). Certainly, most of these songs remind me of those classic Disco-Pop ballads from the late 70s. In essence, your nostalgic soul will love the whole material. Vocals are strong, crystal-clear and seductive. With comparisons to the likes of Disco legends like Celi Bee, Madleen Kane, and France Joli, it’s impossible not to be moved by Arlin’s voice.
Among my favorites is the first track, “Let You Down”, which starts with acoustic guitars and a touch of funkiness. However, I can see people grooving on the dancefloor with “Blah, Blah, Blah”. Therefore, it’s no exaggeration to say, it deserves to be on heavy rotation at clubs. Also, with soul flavors, she creates a love anthem called “The One To Stay”, which bursts with romantic lyrics and a high energetic melody. Currently available on all digital platforms, the ‘Green Light’ EP is surprisingly enjoyable. The singer of Cuban origin will perform her next concert on June 15th at the Koubek Center of Miami Dade. A show you won’t want to miss!

Mattjax Unleashes Pure Disco Goodness With New EP ‘Back To 69’
Mattjax teams up with Dynamique to deliver a fantastic EP entitled ‘Back To 69’. Pure Disco goodness is in the air, as it features two gorgeous tunes that have funky guitar riffs and seductive vocals as a common denominator. On the one hand, the sweet groove of the self-titled track “Back To 69”, forces listeners to relive the memories where platform shoes and mirror balls were the norm. In truth, I would have liked it to last much longer than just two and a half minutes. While, on the other, “Like A Melody” is filled with smooth and sexy beats to play next time you need to set the mood for a romantic escapade. Accordingly, I’m looking forward to hearing much more from these talented guys in the coming months. Until then, you can stream the whole EP to the fullest down here!

It’s Time For Disco! Luxxury Releases “i wanna be EVERYTHING” Video
Last month, Luxxury dropped some sort of vintage video collage for his latest single “i wanna be EVERYTHING”. This time the LA artist offers a good fusion of high falsettos, funky basslines, and guitar licks that encapsulate the wonders of Disco music. Not quite lyrical nor romantic as his old hit, “What Do Ya Really Want ”, I believe this new song is more focused on the energetic rhythm. In any case, you’ll notice there are references to sweat and sex, just watch this crazy clip below and get your own conclusions. Yet perhaps the most important news is that Luxxury has announced a new studio album and surprising collaborations for 2019, so stay tuned!
