Davi Hemann
is the gift that keeps on giving, as the young Brazilian producer delivers once again with his remix of “Wild Ones” by Flo Rida and Sia. He has added his addictive style of progressive and evocative Electro House that has encapsulated his fans since he started releasing music. We wanted to know more about how he made this great track, so we caught up with Davi to have a chat.

1 – Hey Davi – what made you choose to remix this classic track?

I was searching on YouTube for some old songs that I liked when I came across “Wild Ones”. I thought that would be cool to make a remix of that track, even though it’s not so popular now.

2 – It’s a great remix; do you think we can look forward to more tunes in this style from you?

For sure! I have a lot of projects in this style. I think it really defines me! Not many people are associated with Brazilian bass, and I think I can help improve the genre.

3 – Do you have any particular influences you think are noticeable in this track?

I think my influences from the top artists from Brazilian bass, such as Cat Dealers, Vintage Culture, and Felguk, are very noticeable!

– How long did it take to complete the track from start to finish?

The final version took me about 16 hours to finish! Pretty quick compared with some other projects I have worked on. Also, the vocals helped a bit since I didn’t have to spend my time creating different melodies.

5 – Was there a specific moment you knew the track was finished, or was it a slow burner that took a lot of time to perfect?

I knew the track was ready to be released when the drop sounded full to me. Mixing really took time, because I am a perfectionist and wanted it perfect.

6 – Do you have a method to starting tracks and was this one unique or similar to usual?

This one was a little bit different since it’s a remix. But usually, I start with a very good melody and then I try to find a sound (synth or sample) that fits!

7 – Does it differ when producing a remix to producing an original tune, and why?

Definitely. In this case, the vocals helped me create the whole atmosphere of the track and the chords are pretty much the same as the original song. So I didn’t need to spend that much time creating chord progressions and melodies for specific sounds; different to when you’re writing an original track.

8 – Finally, where can we get our hands on the track?

The track is available for free download on my SoundCloud page and YouTube channel! Check it out here:
