A trance song with a driving bassline is all we need for the weekend! The American producer based in Washington, SWIFT shares with us his new single, “Orca”. Most importantly, he takes you to an uplifting journey that gets better and better over the minutes. On different occasions, SWIFT has entered the top electronic music charts and I would not be surprised if he does it again. Furthermore, his amazing productions have reached the ears of big names like Solarstone, Paul van Dyk and even Armin van Buuren. Of course, I’m 100% convinced this instrumental piece will be on the ravers’ radar for some time. Also worthy of note, “Orca” is part of the Equus Recordings catalog because it’s another good example of real Trance music. Notably, the label is reliable in their releases and quality as usual.

Nicky Romero & Teamworx Release Tribal, Psy-Trance Influenced “Deep Dark Jungle”
Nicky Romero may be known for his progressive style, but the Protocol mogul debuts a brand new sound with his latest single “Deep Dark Jungle” in collaboration with Israeli duo Teamworx. True to its name, the track delivers driving, subterranean basslines, and dramatic melodies; it evokes vivid images of carnal tribal choreography that translates from ancient nature to modern dancefloor. Romero has been expanding his sound throughout the last year – from progressive to pop and even country-influenced – and now has touched down in the deeper realms of dance music with the sophistication that only a veteran can pull off. “Deep Dark Jungle” is the second collaboration between Nicky and longtime Protocol artists Teamworx, following their hit “Champion Sound” in 2017. If you’re an aspiring producer yourself, check out Nicky’s over 250 samples, coming straight from Nicky Romero’s studio, he’s just released on Splice here.
Nicky Romero has quickly progressed from a young musical prodigy to one of the most prolific names in modern dance music. He is not only a talented DJ and producer but also the founder of Protocol Recordings and a mentor to the up-and-coming artists whose careers he helps to cultivate. Romero’s resume is an impressive and lengthy string of hits includes iconic originals and collaborations with artists including David Guetta, Steve Aoki, Avicii, Calvin Harris, NERVO, ZEDD and more. Through the constant evolution of his sound and reinvestment in emerging artists, Nicky has proved his ability to evolve with the ever-changing landscape of electronic music. His latest releases have spanned the spectrum of electronic music, including his recent “Ring the Alarm” with David Guetta, vocal collaboration “Distance” with Olivia Holt, “My Way” ft. Alice Berg, and remixes for Martin Garrix and Jess Glynne. In collaboration with Teamworx, the dynamic duo who last released “Clap Back” on Protocol, Nicky Romero dives headfirst into a more underground sound with “Deep Dark Jungle.” Stay tuned to see what comes next from the Protocol gang as they gear up for the festival season.

Will Sparks & Maddix Team Up For Party-Ready Bounce/Hardstyle Single “Mangalam”
Will Sparks and Maddix deliver a hard-hitting fusion of bounce, hardstyle and tribal rhythms on their new collaboration “Mangalam” for Carnage’s Heavyweight Records. Sparks first became well known as a leader in the Melbourne bounce genre and that influence is clearly heard in “Mangalam”‘s upbeat kick drums, but it’s the layered complexity of intense basslines and a tribal vocal riff that gives the track its name make it a real stand out. This release follows Will’s singles “Tombstone” with SCNDL on Monstercat and “Flakka Flakka” on Armada Music. This is his first collaboration with talented newcomer Maddix, who has worked with Hardwell on collaborative “Smash This Beat” and “Bella Ciao” singles. “Mangalam” is a word that signifies good fortune in Sanskrit, and we’re sure that it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy by firing up dance floors around the globe.
Australian DJ and producer Will Sparks made waves in the dance music circuit in 2014 when his single “Ah Yeah So What” became an international hit. That year Sparks was named No. 1 Australian DJ, “Best Breakthrough Artist” by inthemix, and was included in Billboard’s “10 Young EDM Stars to Watch” list, making him a household name for anyone in-the-know. The iconic party track “Ah Yeah So What” was included in Zac Efron’s music themed drama film “We Are Your Friends” as well as The Rock’s hit TV series “Ballers” and became the basis for his catchy, bouncy signature sound. Sparks proved himself far from a one-hit-wonder, going on to release tracks on major labels like Sony Music, Ultra Records, Armada and Spinnin’ and creating remixes for Major Lazer, The Chainsmokers, Robin Thicke, Iggy Azalea, Laidback Luke and Hardwell. His live performances are known to drive crowds into a frenzy at festivals such as Tomorrowworld, Tomorrowland, Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival, Stereosonic and Future Music Festival. Up-and-coming Dutch producer Maddix is building a formidable name for himself early on by remixing Calvin Harris ft. Ellie Goulding’s “Outside”, Sick Individuals’ “Alive” and collaborating with Hardwell, Timmy Trumpet, Olly James and Kris Kiss. Adding “Mangalam” to his resume only promises more energetic tunes from this young artist. Keep an eye out for more new music from Will Sparks, Maddix and Heavyweight Records in 2019!
