Florian Picasso Makes A Grand Finish To 2018 With New Track “Hikari”

Florian Picasso
is closing out 2018 on Protocol Recordings with a massive release in the form of his new track “Hikari”. Meaning “light” in Japanese, the track is certainly befitting of that title with its bright, life-giving sound. Warm on-beat synth chords immediately introduce us to the uplifting progression at the heart of this track. A delectable plucked riff with a gorgeous vocal synth bolstering its beautiful melody. A big snare build thrusts us to the drop where a joyous, stuttered take on this lead melody plays out through big trance chords and thick, buzzing bass. The main break twists and turns these superbly scintillating melodies further, launching us into one final fist-pumping, pyrotechnic-laden drop. Slick, brilliantly honed production galvanizes this excellent track, marking another hit for Florian. “Hikari” is Picasso’s third track in a month after “Glitch” on Protocol and “The Answer” on Spinnin’, all of which have announced his comeback in style. Making his mark once again with this hot new cut, he has shown that he is back for good and that 2019 is going to be a huge year for him.

Since its founding in 2012, Protocol Recordings has grown from a record label to a truly multi-faceted household brand in electronic music–but they’re still only getting started. Nicky Romero created Protocol to be a place of camaraderie between forward-thinking artists, always daring to break the mold through innovative sounds and the development of emerging artists. Protocol’s ethos has lead to immense success with their family of talent, including Raiden, Maximals, Tom Tyger, Florian Picasso, Sunstars and many more. The Protocol crew can always be counted on for cutting-edge new music, melding a variety of genres for exciting and unexpected sounds. In 2015, Protocol gave young newcomer Florian Picasso his first major break, releasing his superb “Origami” on an unsuspecting world. Later re-released with a vocal as “Want It Back (Origami)”, the anthemic track picked up millions of plays and became his most popular solo single. Since then, the bond between Protocol and Picasso grew even more, with the release of “Only For Your Love” with Nicky Romero, “Hanabi” with Raiden, and several performances at Protocol shows. Picasso’s impeccable track record this year has set the scene for the next phase in his ever-exciting journey.

Eddie Gonzalez is getting ready to release his upcoming album, ‘Phantom Boy 2020’. Obviously, he has new music on the way, and even a remix inspired in Baltimora’s “Tarzan Boy” feat. DJ Berni. Entitled as “Quiero Amarte”, this is an upbeat and catchy jam with Latin vibes. Sincerely, I believe it has amazing potential to become a single in the future.

Nowadays, Spanish songs’ popularity grows like wild fire. Therefore, Phantom Boy takes advantage to cross the international borders with his spicy rhythms. Another good example of his imminent music catalog is “Celina”. By the way, I would dare to say you can improve your Spanish pronunciation while you’re singing and dancing to his beats. So, stay tuned for his next record that is full of surprises.

‘Phantom Boy 2020’ will be available on all digital platforms on September 27th.

Dr. Jekyll Unveils Striking Remix Of Analise Hoveyda’s “Aftertaste”

Dr. Jekyll
Last year, 15-year-old actress and singer, Analise Hoveyda dropped her debut single “Aftertaste”. Recently, this radio-friendly hit just got the remix treatment from no other than Dr. Jekyll. So, there’s no doubt he pushes the Pop genre boundaries by adding striking electronic music/RnB elements to the mix. From my view, the LA-based Producer knows how to make the best of a slow-jam. Most importantly, Dr. Jekyll keeps the precision of Analise’s vocals intact. Originally written by Aimee Proal (Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, etc.), lyrics are rich. Plus, it tells a complicated love story girls will feel identified with.

WARNING: If you’re afraid of vampires don’t watch the video below. LOL 😄

:tim Releases Studio 54-Inspired Music Video “Loveparty International”

Loveparty International tim

Fronted by a fascinating funky beat, “Loveparty International” by :tim is the sexiest song he has ever produced. Considering that fact, the music video draws inspiration from Studio 54. As most of you know, the legendary club was a synonym with glitter, lust, eccentricity, and glamour. Clearly, all these visual elements seem to come straight from the late 70s. Moreover, this steamy jam features an electro/groovy bass to convince listeners they can get wild with it. In simple words, just let yourself loose and dance!

Even though “Loveparty International” is out on August 26th, the Berlin-based Producer shares with us details about his upcoming album, ‘Muscheln’ (translated as seashells). So far we know some of these tunes were originally written for his former project A.M.T. A trio known for their surreal humor and a crude music style. Consequently, his improvised melodies from the past took shape in the last four years and they will be available in this new record.

On a side note, Tim, together with Funkarella and Joe Mexicano, organizes the party series Starwalk, which celebrates the joy of improvised funk. Stay tuned for more information on his socials below.
