LA bass producer NGHTMRE and genre-bending EDM linchpins Big Gigantic team up to officially unveil new single “Like That”, out today, via Diplo’s Mad Decent. Deriving from a spectrum of genres, “Like That” fuses Big Gigantic’s live instrumentalism (sax, drums), NGHTMRE’s signature bass/trap sounds, and a vintage vocal line perfectly wrapped in a Gramatik-alike hip-hop electronica package. “Some of my first festivals I ever attended I saw Big Gigantic perform and immediately fell in love with their vibe. After meeting the guys on the road and getting along so well, it was an honor to work together on some music,” says NGHTMRE of collaborating with the festival mainstays whose work he’s admired for years. “They are both so talented and I really feel like this song represents us both well.”

“Like That” continues a rapid-fire 2018 for the unstoppable bass producer NGHTMRE, who just in the past few months has launched his own record label Gud Vibrations with DJ duo SLANDER, teamed up with chart-topping electronic/pop duo The Chainsmokers for high octane joint single “Save Yourself”, released a string of releases on Mad Decent including his collaborative Magic Hour EP with rapper Pell and recent single “Grave” with WAVEDASH, and more. Through his meticulous, earth-shattering productions and equally electrifying live sets, NGHTMRE has taken his spot as one of the leading bass producers in the scene. NGHTMRE is currently on his NGHTMRE Before XMAS tour with dates through the end of the year in SF, LA, Boston, DC, NY, and more – tickets and more info here.

Big Gigantic, whose blend of mind-bending beats, thunderous bass and frenetic melodies has developed a rapid following since forming in 2008, has quickly become one of the most celebrated acts in live music. The duo’s latest full-length album, 2016’s Brighter Future—the sixth album by Boulder, CO-based saxophonist/producer Dominic Lalli and drummer Jeremy Salken – saw their sound hit another dimension with its eclectic mix of tracks spanning from electronic and dance to hip-hop, funk and electro soul with features by Waka Flocka Flame, Logic, GRIZ and more. Big Gigantic is currently on tour through the end of the year with dates in Denver, LA, Philadelphia, and more – tickets and more info here.

Hylaetty Gets Us Ready For Some Minimal Future Bass On New EP ‘Lost Faith’
As music evolves so does its subgenres. I have just discovered a newbie Producer from Germany called Hylaetty who wants to innovate the scene with a Minimal Future Bass style. Beyond doubt, he is making a good impression with his second ‘Lost Faith’ EP. Accurately, this is something new in the realm of electronic music, in which simplicity and chilled melodies will please your ears.

Obviously, all these tunes are 100% instrumental, enforcing the listening experience by blending bouncy synths, chord progressions, and dreamy atmospherics. Taking this into account, my favorite tune is “Lost In Reflection”, which features a cinematic climax that leads to fantastic drops. In conclusion, Hylaetty demonstrates what it takes to be an authentic artist with a solid Future Bass material. What’s more, he gives us an insight look at his creativity without employing vocals. Travel Inspired-EP
Whether you’re embarking on an epic trip abroad or spending this summer in your own backyard, PLS&TY will transport you to exotic lands with his new two-track EP, comprising “Run Wild” and “Feeling Forever”. Some fans may recognize “Run Wild” from its release in the summer of 2017; the unique track has amassed over 10M streams on Youtube alone and is as captivating as ever with its syncopated, emotive vocals and strangely complimentary future bass drop. “Feeling Forever” is PLS&TY’s brand new track, where organic instrumentals and heavenly basslines shine and culminate into a path that transports you to the vibrant, chaotic streets of the eastern continents. The EP follows PLS&TY’s single “Motives,” released earlier this year, which charted at #1 on iTunes US Electronic chart and #25 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Song Sales chart. Read more about PLS&TY’s inspiration for the EP below:

“‘Run Wild’ & ‘Feeling Forever’ are both songs inspired by travel, with each evoking visions of somewhere entirely foreign. I am very excited to show you some of my favorite productions to date, which challenged and elevated my craft by way of entirely unconventional sounds. In fact, Feeling Forever actually contains an iPhone recording of a street performer in India playing his sitar, which the track was built around. I hope you enjoy it!” – PLS&TY

PLS&TY Knows How To Hit You In The Feels With New Vocal Bass Track “Motives”

Published

Motives
If you’ve ever felt on the losing end of a one-sided relationship, PLS&TY understands you. The Miami-based artist’s new track “Motives”, featuring Dutch producer GANZ and LA-based singer/songwriter Nevve, weaves a poignant picture of heartbreak and indifference with its cinematic, chilled-out basslines and emotive vocals. After dropping Rusko’s remix of his “Rebel Love” last month, PLS&TY dishes out more groovy, molten basslines with “Motives,” adding a dash of vulnerability for good measure. Check out what he had to say about the track below:

“‘Motives’ is about one partner wanting so desperately to feel love, no matter how hard the fall or heartbreak, in spite of the other partner’s lack of commitment. One person ultimately ends up the ‘friend,’ and the other the ‘fool,’ for developing true feelings amongst the partner’s indifference. Yet, as genuine ‘motives’ always surface, I believe it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all,” explains PLS&TY.
