Raiden The Only
Korean powerhouses Raiden and 아이린 (IRENE) of K-Pop group Red Velvet have teamed up for their new dance-pop crossover track “The Only” on Protocol Recordings. The new single delivers both feel-good, groovy production and dazzling vocals, giving it mass appeal to fans of both genres. Raiden’s upbeat melodies serve as a perfect backdrop for IRENE’s angelic tones, building to a gently progressive drop. Though the track is mostly in Korean, “The Only” proves that words aren’t necessary to evoke an emotion. Listeners will feel the romantic theme regardless of their native language. “The Only” also marks IRENE’s debut as a solo artist and Raiden’s’ 10th release on Protocol, following June’s “Someone New” with Thomas Gold and 2018’s collaboration with another K-pop star – “Always Find You” with YURI of Girls’ Generation.

“Celina”
, the newest Spanish song from Phantom Boy sounds amazing. The creative Latino artist is releasing this single on August 15th. The good news is that it is taken from his upcoming album, ‘Phantom Boy 2020’. Everything we know so far is that this is the result of a collaborative project with the skillful young Producer Berny Anzola, who has worked in the past with the Grammy Award-winning duo, Chino and Nacho. In other words, you can expect a hit as successful as Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito”. Of course, for Spanish speakers, lyrics will be more meaningful but for those who don’t speak the language, “Celina” still reach the earworm status. Here’s your chance to listen to a preview of the catchy track below!

Marcus James Touches On A Sensitive Subject With Powerful, Emotive New Tune “Move On”

Move On
Marcus James
has a knack for creating meaningful dance music, and his latest release “Move On” featuring XYSM is a poignant and masterful exhibition of his signature sound. The track’s theme is the often-stigmatized subject of mental health, bringing to light the depths of loneliness, anxiety, depression and their coping mechanisms in a scenario that is all too familiar for many of his listeners. With XYSM’s signature vocals intermingled with melodic instrumentals and a gently undulating bassline, James takes the track to a deeper level by including personal phone recordings from his own life. “Move On” sends a straight-forward story and message to all those listening: that vulnerability about these feelings is not a topic that should be stigmatized, and that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Marcus James and XYSM previously teamed up on “Ghosts” and “Let Go,” and “Move On” follows James’s last release “Over U” with RYYZN.

“I’m always trying to create a more cohesive world around my music. One of the ways I’ve been doing that is sampling pieces from older tracks of mine and sneaking them into my new songs. Some of the chopped up vocals you hear are actually made from another song of mine in which the singer happened to use the words’ Move On.’ They were sung with a totally different timbre, so I had to change the rhythm and pitch to draw it together in an engaging way.” – Marcus James

Marcus James is breaking down previously uncrossed barriers between the realms of pop-punk, emo and electronic dance music with his unique signature sound. Dubbing it “emo house,” James’s style is an eclectic fusion of the genres that results in radio-friendly and yet tasteful productions. In 2018 he began to build a following for his hybrid music genre, one that eventually grew into millions of streams and thousands of new followers every week. After signing with the Physical Presents last fall, James joins the likes of Felix Cartal, Prince Paris, Bobby Love and more on the label. Keep an eye out for more emo house you can sing to in the shower coming very soon from Marcus James!

Israeli duo Teamworx has built their signature around energetic, club-friendly tracks, and their new release “Louder” is guaranteed to set dancefloors around the globe on fire. They’ve teamed up with Dutch producer Mr. Sid and newcomer George Z for the new release, which is their 8th on Nicky Romero’s Protocol Recordings. “Louder” is suitable to its name, delivering driving basslines and larger-than-life melodies for a track that is nostalgic for classic big-room, but fine-tuned for the new age of dance music. Teamworx have already teased the track out several times, including at Ultra Korea, to rave reactions from the crowd. “Louder” follows “Losing Control,” and Teamworx’s remix of Nicky Romero and David Guetta’s festival hit “Ring the Alarm.”

Since its founding in 2012, Protocol Recordings has grown from a record label to a truly multi-faceted household brand in electronic music – but they’re still only getting started. Nicky Romero created Protocol to be a place of camaraderie between forward-thinking artists, always daring to break the mold through innovative sounds and the development of emerging artists. Protocol’s ethos has lead to immense success with their family of talent, including eight-time veterans Teamworx. The Israeli exports first exploded onto the scene with Corey James and their track “Make The Crowd Go,” which received massive support from industry heavyweights and is still played by Steve Angello in his live sets. They’ve collaborated with Nicky himself on “Champion Sound” and “Deep Dark Jungle,” as well as remixes for his tracks “Only For Your Love” and “Ring the Alarm.” In 2018, they played at EDC China as well as Protocol’s showcase at ADE, and this summer they performed at Ultra Korea. Keep an eye out for more new music and show announcements from Teamworx coming soon!
