In the world of music, you will notice that there are often similar themes that arise in lyrics across all genres. One common theme that you will find is casinos and gambling, which is easy to see why when you dig a little deeper. Casinos and gambling are all about taking risks, and there are many areas in life where people often take risks, whether this is their love life, career, or any other part of life. Of course, sometimes they are just singing about casinos and gambling as well as there is certain glitz and glamor to this! Here are a few casino-related songs to check out.

1. Lady Gaga – Poker Face

Perhaps the first song to spring to mind when talking about casinos and gambling in music is Lady Gaga’s Poker Face from 2008. One of the catchiest pop songs of the millennium, Poker Face, helped Lady Gaga rise to become one of the most popular artists in the world. Of course, the lyrics are multi-layered, and there are many hidden meanings. The song won a Grammy Award and topped the charts in 20 different countries.

2. Kate Perry – Waking Up In Vegas

Waking Up in Vegas from Katy Perry’s 2008 album One of the Boys is a song that encapsulates what many think of when they think about Las Vegas – having a wild night and taking a gamble that might change your life. The song follows an underage couple that gets drunk at a casino and blows all of their money and is inspired by the classic quote – “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”.

3. Tim McGraw – Last Dollar (Fly Away)

Country music star Tim McGraw is one of the best-selling country artists of all time, with over 80 million record sales worldwide. He is known for his heartfelt lyrics and songs with a Southern twang, and a great example of this is 2007’s Last Dollar (Fly Away), which is a song about a man down to his last dollar and the freedom that he feels. It is actually a biographical song about McGraw’s Big Kenny (of Big & Rich) when he found himself down to his last dollar after a disastrous night in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve 2002. These days, it might be better to stay home and bet at an online casino, which you can find at www.gambleonline.co/casino/real-money/.

4. Tyler Shaw – House Of Cards

Tyler Shaw’s House of Cards from the 2015 album Yesterday may sound like a song about gambling in a casino, but from the lyrics, it is clear that he is talking about gambling to express his love for someone. He refers to himself as a house of cards as something that is fragile and that he is missing his “queen of hearts” to be complete.

These are just 4 songs involving casinos and gambling, but all have a deeper meaning underneath that people can resonate with. You will often see casinos, gambling, and card game refer-ences in songs, and they can be powerful metaphors for love, risk, and life.
