If you thought Amanda Bynes’ music would be boring, think again! With over 18K streams on Spotify, the former actress is back in the spotlight with a banger that blends EDM and Rap in “Girlfriend.”
This surprise collab with Zabba and Fenix Flexin dropped independently, with Create Music Group handling the distribution. Fans are seriously loving seeing her back in her creative element. Now all we’re waiting for is her first music video, fingers crossed it drops soon!
Meanwhile, hit play on the new track right here.
Kesha Vibes and EDM-Rap Fusion
The first thing that pops into my head when I hear her voice on “Girlfriend” is Kesha! But I mean that in the best way.
If you dig her songs, you’re definitely gonna love this new era of Amanda Bynes’ music. Moreover, it has this melodic vibe that takes you right back to the 2010s, and it’s straight-up sticky in your head.
The beat’s kinda like what Heidi Montag dropped last year, too, which blew up on TikTok with tons of viral clips. On top of all that, she’s adding some original flair with Rap rhymes layered over those electronic waves.
No doubt, it makes this jam super remix-friendly and perfect for pumping up the club atmosphere.
The Visual Strategy: Why the Cover Art Misses the Mark
Featuring a simple snowy landscape under a lavender sky, the cover art is quite minimalistic. However, it misses the mark for marketing.
In my opinion, a more eye-catching design from a creative professional could have provided the visual punch needed to grab more listeners and boost the song’s reach.
However, at the end of the day, it’s the music that matters, and the melody here is more than acceptable. It successfully sparks enough curiosity to keep her upcoming projects on our radar.

Focusing on the Art, Not the Past
Finally, I’m not going to get into the artist’s personal life or the heavy stuff she’s dealt with. I just want to say that making music is definitely therapeutic, and I love seeing her find her flow again.
Music has that special way of helping you work through things and find your center again. When you’ve been through the wringer or had everyone judging you, getting back into something creative like writing lyrics lets you rebuild who you are, far away from all those past struggles.
It’s a huge win for resilience, proving that just making something is honestly one of the best ways to heal.
