After touching down with their EP ‘Invasion’ earlier this year, the enigmatic duo ATLiens have then announced their Full North American “Invasion Tour” and unleash a brand new record to set the tone. Their latest single comes in the form of “Exile”, a heavy-hitting track with an eerie sense of apocalyptic foreboding. With its warbling, wobbling basslines and plenty of serrating synths, “Exile” captures the essence of ATLiens in its sinister, yet singular feel – the listener almost feels as if they are the societal outsiders and the ones shut off from humanity. Following “Invasion,” “Exile” marks the beginning of the second phase of ATLiens’ universal infiltration. Now that we’ve been offered a glimpse into the inner working of ATLiens’ psyche, we can’t wait to see what they give us next.
Prior to their first release “Interstellar,” there had been several suspected ATLiens sightings around the globe. They were spotted wearing their signature chrome masks while tearing up stages in United States and Australia early in 2018, so it’s only a matter of time before they make their next touchdown. After releasing the hard-hitting “Malfunction” with TYNAN, ATLiens then hit Earth with their six track EP “Invasion,” full of bass-heavy, robotic tracks that caught the attention of humans around the globe. ATLiens are growing even more fearless with every coming release, which leads us to believe that there will be more appearances during this summer’s full-fledged music season. Stay tuned for more signals from ATLiens.

RayRay & JVNA, Asian Stars Team Up On Bilingual Trap “Butterfly”
RayRay teams up with JVNA for a stunning collaboration – “Butterfly” from RayRay’s upcoming debut album, making for a union of two killer females, originally hailing from Taiwan RayRay and US-born Taiwanese JVNA. The single showcases both artists’ talents perfectly, from JVNA’s and RayRay’s dreamy singing performances to both Future Bass and melodic Trap production prowess. Opening with sultry, breathy vocals and an ominous bassline, “Butterfly” starts with an ethereal feel and blossoms into a drop featuring serrating synths and deep bass undertones that give it an edge. The mixture of feminine emotiveness and unquestionable sonic confidentiality makes the track an unusual creation where the lyrics are sung in English and Mandarin. RayRay and JVNA’s collaboration is out now on Yellow Claw’s Barong Family imprint and will also be featured on RayRay’s forthcoming debut album “Unearthly World.” Read on what both artists have to say about their new release:
“One of my favorite songs on the album. It’s definitely a unique combination between me and JVNA. I’ve wanted to work with her for a very long time. She is such an inspiring person. It’s very interesting and fun to blend her airy music sound with my hard trap elements together. We started making this song in July 2021 last year and actually came up with the vocals first. Be strong and brave, and eventually, you will be like a butterfly emerging from the cocoon. This is also the experience we have been learning as artists. Life isn’t a bed of roses, and there are a lot of obstacles. However, as long as you pull it through, you will become a beautiful butterfly. It’s also a tribute to our friends and fans in Taiwan and Asia.” — RayRay
“I wrote ‘Butterfly’ with RayRay wanting to write a track that felt empowering to both of us. As female producers/DJs we’ve bonded over our experiences of being in a male-dominated industry and the feeling of needing to prove ourselves constantly. This song is about taking a leap of faith in pursuing our dreams, becoming the person we want to become, and succeeding in our goals. When RayRay and I initially met, we clicked instantly. She is one of the few friends I have in the industry to whom I can relate and talk about the similar struggles and experiences we have in our work field.” — JVNA
RayRay has landed loudly and exploded onto the international dance scene in the past few years. With gigs at major festivals like Glastonbury, ADE, Tomorrowland, Sonar, and Arcadia, and her purple hair as her signature look. She cemented her status in the scene as a Red Bull Thre3style competition winner and through a series of studio sessions with artists such as Skrillex, Yellow Claw, Steve Aoki, and Atmozfears. All that while honing and training her vocals with voice professionals. After being named on Beatport’s HOT 100 Future Bass/Trap Top 10 List in 2016, her work ethic and signature sound caught the ears of Yellow Claw, who brought RayRay on tour in 2019 and quickly signed her to a management deal and to the Barong Family where she released three EPs: “Purple Alien” and “Alien Invasion” and 2021’s Brand New EP “Alien Mutation.” RayRay’s new home on the Dutch imprint has gotten her name on feverish demand, and today she tours her signature sound all over the globe, creating seismic experiences for her newfound fans. With releases on Spinnin’ Records, Protocol Recordings, Dim Mak, as well as releases on Tiësto’s label Musical Freedom to follow. Despite the pandemic, 2020 and 2021 didn’t slow her down one bit. With the dance scene at a standstill, RayRay started her live streaming channel on Twitch in early 2020 and, within a year, became the top Twitch “Live Music” Streamer, according to IMS Business report. During the same period landing a residency on Tiesto’s Musical Freedom Sirius XM Radio show. 2021 saw her release EPs “Lasergun” with Yellow Claw, “Pump It Up” with Moksi, and “Where Are My Friends” with Sihk, to name a few. Needless to say, RayRay’s spaceship is rocketing across the stars and doesn’t seem to slow down anytime soon.
California-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist JVNA produces electronic music that plays at the dichotomy of light and dark, bass and melody, organic and synthetic. Raised by Taiwanese immigrants, JVNA studied classical piano from the age of 6 and started writing songs when she was 11. Her studies continued at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she learned to score films and video games. Initially, JVNA made fun edits and remixes of her favorite anime and video game soundtracks; her take on MapleStory’s “Login Theme” caught fire on the internet, earning half a million views in 24 hours. Her 2018 song “I’m With You,” inspired by her father’s death two years earlier, dared to dive deep into an emotional world. JVNA self-directed the song’s music video. The Follow-up single “Catch Me,” released in 2019, took JVNA on a sold-out tour across the United States. Due to the pandemic, it was canceled, and JVNA returned to the studio to focus on the album’s production. She pushed herself to incorporate more live keys, piano, and organic textures. In 2021 JVNA released her debut studio album – “Hope In Chaos,” which is a diverse collection of styles featuring JVNA’s voice like it’s never been heard before, opening up about so much more than the standard dance floor love songs.
Renraku Global Unveils Newest Compilation ‘INFOHAZARD’
Globally recognized imprint Renraku prepares to launch its newest 12-track compilation ‘INFOHAZARD.’ Out now, the compilation is chock-full of artists both familiar with the brand and those releasing with the collective for the first time.
“The idea of an infohazard has been discussed in certain circles of computer science and philosophy. To summarize briefly: an infohazard is a piece of information that can be damaging to the recipient (for instance: instructions on how to crash your computer hard drive). Running with that concept and applying it to music, the intent is to highlight and showcase music that fully realizes what is possible within electronic music – setting the bar higher in an already hyper-competitive landscape. Renraku has always strived to push the culture of electronic music forward, to break boundaries and to showcase what is possible at the absolute cutting edge; INFOHAZARD is our latest milestone in highlighting that.” — Renraku Global
Released on August 17 as the first glance into the collection, “STASIS DEMON” is a cinematic and glitchy track from UK-based experimental artist N². In addition to their brilliant hand at sound design and multiple single releases across the Renraku catalog, N² has contributed to releases such as Imprint for Charity, which aims to highlight the representation of LGBTQ voices both within and independent of the music industry. Sabroi’s “Zoom” was released the following week, reminiscent of the sounds of experimental legends like G Jones and Shades. Sabroi’s Max for Live production tools, created in tandem with techno producer Hellbound!, have been featured on the likes of Magnetic Mag and more – and “Zoom” is the Swedish artist’s Renraku debut.
The dark and aggressively moody track “R_NICEGUYS” from HØST plans to drop on the last day of the month. With releases on Sherelle’s Hooversound, Unchained Recordings, Vision and tons of BBC Radio 1 plays under his belt, HØST sports an impressive ability to move fluidly between genres. Vhsceral’s “Mirror Test” will be the artist’s third occasion releasing with Renraku, his Living on Europa LP and Me Time EP being the precursors. With Spotify editorial support on Lofi Beats, Sunset Chill, Top Gaming Tracks, Lo-Fi Hits and more, the otherworldly sounds that Vhsceral brings to the table are unparalleled. Just three days before the full compilation drops, ALEPH’s “Paradigm” is set to release on Renraku. Having already released on the Minneapolis imprint last year with his EGO DEATH LP, ALEPH’s eclectic sound continues to find support from tastemakers like Amon Tobin, Noisia and The Glitch Mob.
INFOHAZARD will also contain music from sv1, Nu Partial, INTRCEPT, Boingo Hotspot, Ankou and XOXOXOXO. The compilation’s opening track, sv1’s “Caustics,” aims to be a highlight within its star-studded roster, and the Austin-based artist boasts editorial support on Spotify’s Fresh Finds Dance, Experimental and Hyperpop.
Since its formation in 2016, Renraku Global has been continually devoted to pushing next-generation sound and vision of the highest caliber. Beginning with a focus on experimental
music from artists with little to no following, Renraku’s exponential growth in the scene has helped establish its familiarity to a dedicated audience looking for a fresh approach to artistic content. A winning crossover of the niche and familiar is the underlying motif of Renraku’s catalog, consistently backed by numerous veteran names in the electronic community and played at a diverse array of live events around the world. INFOHAZARD will be no exception – the collective has high expectations for the upcoming project and fans will surely not be disappointed in its contents.
Stealing the attention of The Glitch Mob, Amon Tobin, Chris Cunningham, Flying Lotus, Daddy Kev and more early on, Renraku has maintained steady support from fans seeking more than just electronic music. Being founded by enthusiastic members of legendary online resources like Dogs on Acid and Neurohop Forum, Renraku is passionate about maintaining the community. Renraku introduced chart-topping toolkits designed by a careful selection of incredibly prolific sound designers in tandem with its discography, striving to supply both music fans and creators alike. Wide distribution from Splice, ADSR, Prime Loops and others has ensured newcomers quick access to quality materials for elevating their own projects. Making up the core of this creative output is a family of artists dedicated to a collective vision, and Renraku is committed to providing them a strong environment for artistic development and support.
