Video artist & animator Tomek Ducki has created a visual for Basement Jaxx’s first Deep House single of 2014, entitled “Unicorn”. A few days ago, it was announced that their new album will be called ‘Junto’ and will be released this August.
The album will be the duo’s seventh, and marks their first release in almost four years. WOW!
“Unicorn” Visuals: Tomek Ducki’s Style
The visuals for Basement Jaxx’s “Unicorn” come from video artist Tomek Ducki. He’s known for a quirky, handmade feel, mixing stop-motion and 2D animation into surreal, dreamy scenes.
For this tune, he adds a playful, almost magical touch that fits the Deep House sound, going for a personal, non-realistic look instead of a typical slick music video. It really matches the song’s title, taking viewers on a creative, myth-like journey instead of showing the band or a literal story.
