Calvin Harris
, one of the biggest names in Dance music, has written and produced a new song to soundtrack Pepsi Max’s 2012 global marketing campaign. The multi-million dollar integrated campaign features the new song and brings together iconic footballers like Didier Drogba, Fernando Torres, Frank Lampard, Jack Wilshere, and Sergio Agüero. Moreover, it will launch across television, digital, outdoor, and retail platforms to promote Pepsi Max among football and music fans worldwide.

Calvin Harris’ Coca-Cola Song

Calvin Harris is no stranger to creating banger songs for major brands. In 2009, he wrote and recorded “Yeah Yeah Yeah La La La” for a Coca-Cola commercial starring Enrique Iglesias. Besides, the infectious Dance-Pop tune became a global chart-topper and further cemented Harris’ reputation as one of the top hitmakers in the industry.

In my opinion, this commercial is pretty hilarious, you can see it below. Plus, I don’t know why those strange musical creatures remind me of Gremlins, lol.

Why Partner with Calvin Harris

While some may be surprised by Harris’ involvement with Pepsi given his previous association with Coca-Cola, major brands understand the value of partnering with top musical talents. As one of the most in-demand producers and DJs today, Harris brings instant credibility and mass appeal to any campaign he lends his music to. For Pepsi, tapping his unique blend of EDM beats and catchy melodies is sure to energize and engage young consumers.

It will be interesting to see how “Feel The Rush” fares commercially. Indeed, if it mirrors the success of Harris’ 2009 Coca-Cola song, Pepsi may have found the perfect musical complement to their high-profile football campaign.
