Chapter & Verse
Helix Records debuts rising talent Chapter & Verse with his new single “Ready For The Rave, which throws it back to the old-school UK raves, as the name clearly suggests. Opening with catchy vocals and a strong buildup of stabbing synths, Chapter & Verse wastes no time by upping the ante. The track breaks down in a driving, four on the floor beat that will slay dancefloors all over the globe and bring listeners back to the infamous underground, sometimes illegal, days before electronic dance music’s mainstage heyday. True to his dynamic style, Chapter & Verse also weaves in some modern tech-house influences with kickdrums and chopped vocals. Read on for the inspiration behind the track from the artist himself:

I wanted to create a track which incorporates old-school rave along with modern-day tech house. I found and modified an old rave stab to create the sound heard throughout the 90s. I added a vintage Chapter & Verse bassline, an old-school vocal and “Ready For The Rave” was born  Chapter & Verse

“Plastic is a piece of social commentary and my honest attempt to make everyone in the rave pissed off (ha!). I wrote it as a rant against all the superficial crap I saw around me and as a way to rail against a string of events both here in the UK and in the US that left me saying “WTF?!” Melody’s Enemy

Label owner at There is a Light Records, The Archer secures an average of 37,000 monthly listeners of techno and deep house lovers alike on Spotify and other music streaming services. Nicky Romero Puts His Own Spin On House Tune “To The Floor”

Published

Loud' N Bright

What a story. The Dutch duo Loud’ N Bright sent Nicky Romero their track “To The Floor” as a promo earlier this year, and the Protocol label head liked it so much that he decided to put his own spin on it and let the duo release it. Romero’s edit honors Loud ‘N Bright’s booty-shaking original while adding some high-energy grooves. The track’s driving, bouncy bassline, and catchy vocal riffs make it absolutely perfect for nights getting down in the club. “To The Floor” is in line with Nicky’s recent sonic direction on tracks like “Back To Where We Started” with Afrojack and “For The People” with Third Party, as well as his earlier solo singles such as “Techtronic” and “Myriad.” Municipal Recordings launched in February 2022, so it’s a treat for that young but fast-rising label to welcome Nicky Romero to its growing catalog of releases.

We need to work hard to accomplish our goals, but the best thing about it is that we can party a lot along the way.”

After taking the world by storm with early hits such as “Legacy” with Krewella and the #1 single “I Could Be The One” with Avicii, Nicky Romero quickly proved that his talent is ever-evolving and here to stay. After launching his Protocol Recordings imprint in 2012, the renowned performer, producer, and label head continued his personal successes with a string of high-profile releases, ranging from collaborations with Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, W&W, Timmy Trumpet and Steve Aoki to remixes for the likes of Robin Schulz, Kygo, Rita Ora, Steve Aoki, Martin Garrix, Jess Glynne and more.
