David Anthony: As a singer-songwriter dj producer Loft93 has a unique style and sound. It’s always great Collaborating with him.

LOFT 93: Growing up, My uncle was a big influence on me having a passion for house music. He played records for me and the early 90s house music captivated me and I started to incorporate those elements into my Afro House records. My vocals are designed to pay homage to that time in music.

2 — What elements did you infuse into this track to capture the Afro-House essence?

David Anthony: In our “House Music” Release, we delved into the melodic textures and distinctive rhythms emblematic of Afro House, yet with a unique twist—filtered through the stylistic lens of David Anthony’s Loft93 approach.

LOFT 93: The drums and the snares are the foundation of the record. It was really important to incorporate them & deliver the South African percussive roots to make sure people danced.

3 — Could you discuss some of the issues you had to tackle in the process of producing this collaborative track?

David Anthony: Despite being in Sweden and Loft being all the way in Miami, the tech hiccups actually worked out pretty well, because we ended up collaborating almost like we were in the same room, in real time.

LOFT 93: Collaborating with Dave has always been a great encounter. They say 2 minds work better than one. Dave is more seasoned and I gain knowledge from him & vice versa. I deliver the foundation of the record and Dave enhances it with his creative unique style.

David Anthony: The vocals seriously amp up the vibe, you know? When They hit right it hits a message that sticks. And Loft93? The dude’s vocal style is straight-up fire for the club scene—he’s totally dialed into his own thing when it comes to laying down those tracks.

LOFT 93: I believe vocals are important. It allows an artist to speak into existence.
It also allows power to gravitate people to the story you are telling.

5 — What is the intention behind releasing the Club Mix and the Stripdown Club Mix of the same tune?

David Anthony: The Club Mix is your full-on, all-out anthem with every bell and whistle tuned for peak-hour energy. It’s crafted to amp up the crowd with all its layers and textures.

On the flip side, the Stripdown Club Mix peels back those layers, giving DJs a more minimalist, raw beat that can slide into sets like a smooth groove, offering that pure, unadulterated rhythm and baseline intimacy. It’s all about giving DJs options to match the mix with the moment and the mood of the room.

LOFT 93: It’s always great to have different versions of the record. It allows us to cater to different audiences.

6 — In what ways do you want listeners to immerse themselves in the rhythm of “House Music”?

David Anthony: I want listeners to just dive into “House Music” and let the beats and bass take the lead. Let those build-ups hype you up and the drops shake you free. Whether you’re in your living room or out in the club, just let loose, get lost in the mix, and let the music do its thing. It’s all about that moment, that movement, and vibing out together.

LOFT 93: When people listen to “House Music” I would love them to close their eyes & feel the essence of the rhythm of the record. It’s a beautiful record full of many elements that make people dance with the consistent bass line and piano chords.

7 — If you had the opportunity to collaborate with any remixer of your choice for this track, who would be your top pick?

David Anthony: For an epic Afro House remix, Black Coffee is my top choice. His transformative style would elevate the track. For a UK twist, Jamie Jones, with his signature tech-house spin, is the ideal pick. Their expertise is perfect for remixing this hit-in-the-making.

LOFT 93: I would love to collaborate with Black Coffee. Black coffee is a big influence on why I make Afro House music. Black Coffee & his soulful essence to Afro house music has developed a diversity in Afro House music. He has demonstrated that being diverse is a result of longevity within your career.

8 — As artists, do you prioritize appealing to a broader commercial audience or maintaining a strong connection with the underground community?

David Anthony: Striking that perfect beat between hitting the mainstream and keeping it underground is key. I aim to drop tracks that the crowd loves, but never forget the raw, authentic underground that’s the soul of my music. It’s all about authentic beats that transcend, whether you’re vibing in a packed festival or an exclusive club.

LOFT 93: Maintaining a connection to the underground community is important to me, It’s my foundation. My goal is to make sure I make a difference in the house genre. I’m experimenting with 90s house music elements & incorporating them into Afro House. Afro house has exploded in the commercial scene so my goal will be to make sure I’m authentic to both sides.

David Anthony: Vibes, rhythm, life.
