In this super cool interview, the visionary virtuoso David Anthony spills the beans on his House music label, Planet Hum. Not only that, but he also shares information about his recently released “I’ll House You” remix with Lexx Sequoia and C.O.D. Prepare for an enlightening exploration of this exceptional work!
1 — “I’ll House You” has a vibrant and infectious vibe. How do you manage to capture such contagious energy in your music?
Everything is rhythm, a piano can be melodic and rhythmic for me it’s building a groove and how the instruments gel together to create that groove.
2 — Can you tell us about the inspiration behind this track and how the collaboration with Lexx Sequoia and C.O.D came together?
The original “I’ll House You” is a classic House record from Todd Terry and the Jungle Brothers which is still played out in clubs today. I wanted to create a more percussion-driven remake remix plus Lexx Sequoia and C.O.D delivered such a great sexy tone to the record. The record came together very nicely.
3 — How do you believe working with other artists enriches your creative process?
Anytime creative people join forces to create by allowing the free flow of ideas, to transform the ideas into melody and song is always a great thing to experience and share.
4 — This new single showcases a prominent House music melody. How do you feel this genre has evolved over the years?
The quarter note kicks the “4 on the floor” as the anchor, the canvas on which we paint our masterpieces on. Dance music, club music in whatever subgenre you wish to call it, at its core is an expression that compels movement and emotion.
5 — What do you think sets “I’ll House You” apart from others in the genre?
For me, “I’ll House You” is Hip-Hop, House, graffiti art, and urban living, it’s underground clubs and dancing all night! House music is inclusive, it’s for everybody. It’s really a timeless message, “When you’re in my hut you know what’s up let your mind be free relax your body, jump jump a little higher…”

6 — What goals or aspirations did you have in mind when you started your own label Planet Hum?
HUM is an acronym for House underground music. I’ve been producing House music since I was 18 years old. Although as a producer I do and have produced music in other genres. As an artist and label, I feel at home making dance music.
7 — Building a strong brand identity is crucial for any label. How does Planet Hum maintain its unique identity and reputation amidst the ever-changing music landscape?
Our goal is to be consistent with our releases, so whether it’s a classic remake with a twist or an original work we want to deliver quality mixes for our DJs and dance music fans. As the label head and producer, I want to support the “up and coming” artists and DJ/producers, by providing an outlet for their creative talents and supporting them in their musical journeys.

8 — As a record label, what specific genres of music does Planet Hum focus on?
We like House, Soulful House, Tech-House, cover remakes of dance classics, and, of course, Afro House. But we also like club music or music that a DJ would play like Tropical House, and Chill House as well.
9 — Can you share some upcoming projects from Planet Hum that we can look forward to?
We have a great lineup of releases, including some Disco House as well. We’ve been on a feel-good kick recently so a lot of the upcoming releases will have a happy vibe, blame it on the summertime. We also have a few more classic remakes coming up which sound amazing! As a musician-producer, remaking some of these classic dance songs is so much fun.
10 — Is there any final message you’d like to convey to your fans or fellow artists?
Music is equal to air and sunlight, as humans we simply cannot live without it. I want to thank all of you who have supported and continue to support my musical journey, much love to you all! ??
