David Bay‘s latest single “Dancing On The Edge” accurately represents where contemporary Disco music is at in 2023. Besides, while it may be considered uptempo, the song doesn’t lose its melancholic touch.
Those familiar with his incredible catalog of feel-good jams over the past few years know he can do no wrong in the studio. And, of course, “Dancing On The Edge” is no exception.
The vocals have a really nice, soft falsetto quality that, combined with the lush, warm synth pads and classy string sections, creates an elegant atmosphere. Not to mention, he seamlessly blends vintage with innovative, and classic with cutting-edge.

“Dancing On The Edge” follows Bay’s recent singles like “Strangers,” “1999,” and tracks from his ‘Zissou Edits Best EP,’ which got love from big names in the scene such as Solomun, SG Lewis, Lost Frequencies, etc.
Needless to say, you will notice he experiments joyfully with contemporary Disco music while preserving its essence. So cue up this five-star groovy gem, grab your best dance partner, and get lost in the funky soundscape.
In an era where cheerful beats are having a comeback, David Bay continues establishing the gold standard.
I’m really hoping he drops some more new tunes soon.
