Exclusive Interview: ALWZ SNNY Details New Song “November Still Rains”
A play off Guns N’ Roses iconic “November Rain,” the latest track from ALWZ SNNY features his signature mix of various genres, blending elements of folk, electronic, and pop styles. Get all the details in this exclusive interview.
1 — You must be proud of “November Still Rains.” Do you like the fact that it can possibly become a huge festival banger?
That would be absolutely amazing! It definitely has that potential and energy!
2 — Is this actually one of the first dance tracks you’ve ever produced? Please tell us more.
It is literally the first dance song I ever produced. I felt it deserved to be released in the month of November, and last year my November release schedule was stacked, so I had to hold it for another year.
3 — What are the lyrics about?
It’s about finding yourself and finding peace within. Letting go of whatever it is that contaminates your soul and purifies it.
4 — How did you come up with its title?
The title is a spin of the classic Guns N’ Roses song, “November Rain”. One of my favorite songs ever!
5 — Do you have a certain method for creating tunes based on different genres?
I really don’t, I just try to make stuff that sounds good to me, and hopefully, that will sound good to everyone else. I never produce a song tailored to sounding good to anyone other than myself.
6 — How long did it take you to produce it?
Originally, I produced it in a couple of days. A couple of months ago when I decided I would release it, I went back into the file and updated some sounds, but kept the foundation the same.
7 — What artists would you love to remix it? Why?
I think it would be cool if Alan Walker remixed it. I feel like it has the vibe of something he would touch.
8 — What has been the biggest learning experience around “November Still Rains”?
I learned that it is important to keep a folder of the songs you produce which you don’t release. You never know when you might open that folder up and re-work one of them and it turns out to be a great song.
9 — How do you feel to host the Winter Meltdown 2021? Can you share with us more details about this event?
I am so excited! I’m very proud of the lineup I was able to put together. DJ Deville and Gianni Glo are two of the most talented DJs I know. Maryland is in for a real treat!
10 — Lastly, why do ALWZ SNNY wear a mask?
The original reason was because my day job is a very serious, high responsibility job. So I wanted to keep my nightlife and day job completely apart. As time passed, it became next-level branding and just as important as the music itself.
