This is one of those EPs that makes you want to put on your headphones. Ronald Mkiza just released ‘Chapter 2: Rat Race,’ a progression of what Hip-Hop can be when done with passion. Unlike many rappers, he has such a good musical ear which makes his rapid-fire flow shine as usual. Surrounded by the vocals of Azalée, the first track, “Want It” makes you realize Ronald’s rhyming skills are stronger than ever while the urban beats sound absolutely fabulous. Moreover, you can feel there’s so much energy in the interaction between both artists.

I think “Want It” infects you with the right badass attitude, empowering anyone who does not know how valuable they are. The key element here is motivation because there is a strong aspiration for self-development and dreaming. Dipping deeper into the sampling of old-school records for “Back Again,” he offers an inventive effort that isn’t afraid to color outside the lines. Definitely, this EP exceeds expectations with two songs that you won’t soon forget. It isn’t premature at all to call ‘Chapter 2: Rat Race’ one of the best Hip-Hop materials of 2021.
