Morocco’s electronic music scene is an oxymoron. They exist – but they do not exist. There is also hope, perhaps since the Arab Spring. A gentle awakening one’s own identity, far from the clichéd courting the international star DJ and producer scene takes place unnoticed by the mainstream of the collective consciousness. Quiet operating enclaves of highly professional music production in idyllic Studio Spaces deliver remarkable output.

SCENE, WHAT SCENE?
There is simply no electronic music scene in Morocco. If a few kids post on a Facebook fan page that they want to assist to a small party, this event, then can not speak of one scene. In Casablanca, there are possibly Lost Frequency as an independent organizer. Another problem: the people from Morocco do not even know the difference between labels and promoters, everything is thrown into a pot, but nothing comes around over there.
Cosmo is to date the only Moroccan label, and the local electronic music platform that support producers. Everything is so new, and there is still so much to do, so it would be good to see, and do something.
