In this exclusive interview, DJ Sawcy opens up about his creative process, love for Future House, and the unique vibe of Québec festivals. Discover his latest track, dream collaborations, and exciting plans ahead!

1 – What inspires the sound and direction of your new music?

I’ve always loved Future House, Tech House, and Electro, so my goal is to create a unique genre that blends all three seamlessly. I’m inspired by the idea of taking the energy of these styles and crafting something fresh and innovative, a sound that truly feels like my own.

2 – How do you keep your tracks fresh and avoid falling into repetitive patterns?

I don’t overthink it—I just go with the flow. Music is about expression, and I always try to keep things natural while ensuring each track has its own unique vibe. At the same time, I make it a point to experiment and avoid sounding too similar to what’s already out there.

3 – Where can we listen to your latest single? What three words best capture its essence?

My music is available everywhere! You can find me on all major streaming platforms. If I had to describe my latest single in three words, they would be: uplifting, happy, and futuristic.

4 – Are you open to collaborating with vocalists or other artists from Québec? What do you look for in them?

Absolutely! I’m always excited to collaborate with artists, not just from Québec but from anywhere in the world. I love working with vocalists and musicians who bring their unique energy and vibe to the table.

Whatever they feel like creating, I can produce something that complements their vision. Music is universal, and collaborations are a great way to explore new sounds.

5 – What’s your favorite aspect of playing at Québec festivals compared to other regions?

I have no problem playing at festivals outside of Québec—it’s always exciting to see how different crowds react to my music.

But Québec festivals have a special vibe, with an audience that’s passionate and incredibly supportive of local talent. That energy is hard to beat!

6 – So far, what has been the best experience you have had as a DJ?

The best experience I’ve had so far was performing at Jonquière en Musique. The crowd was amazing, and the energy that night was something I’ll never forget.

Seeing people dance and connect to the music I’ve created—it’s a feeling like no other.

7 – Do Québec DJs need French-language elements to connect with local audiences?

While French elements can help create a special connection with local audiences, I’m just as capable of connecting with English-speaking crowds. Music is a universal language, and I focus on the energy and vibe of my set to engage people, no matter the language they speak.

8 – Where will your career be heading in the next 5-10 years?

My ultimate dream is to play everywhere around the world. I want to share my music globally, connecting with audiences from different countries and cultures while continuing to evolve as an artist.
