Interview | Questions And Answers With Damon Wall

Electronic musician Damon Wall clearly demonstrates that there is no limit to the power of the human mind. I’m expressing this because he overcame numerous struggles in his own life. His disability does not mean inability at all, and he is still learning and growing as an artist. After releasing a 10-track album, called ‘Arping Against the Wind’, he continues the path of living the life to the fullest. If you’re a fan of Electronica and Industrial music, I think you’ll find  his productions very enjoyable.

1 – What was your first introduction to Electronica & Industrial music?

The very first Industrial group that I heard was VNV Nation. After listening to them I started finding bands similar to them.

2 – Has exploring and experimenting with sounds always interested you then?

I would say yes. I have always wanted to make music similar to artists that have inspired me.

3 – Is there any one thing you love about being a producer or an artist? Do you see this activity as a challenge?

Challenging yes. What I love about it is the ability to make music that I love. The challenge I would also say finding people that like the music I create. I know the fans are out there it’s just finding that demographic.

4 – What do you use to make music these days? How do you keep yourself updated about music production?

I currently use Logic Pro X. After finding out what other electronic music artists use I moved from Cakewalk to Logic.

5 – Do you find it important to be inspired by other artists? If so, what artists do you admire?

I think it is very important. It is a way to be able to create new songs. For artists that have inspired me, that’s a long list. I’ll just name a few. VNV Nation, Assemblage 23, Grendel, God Module and Apoptygma Berzerk.

6 – Can you tell us more about your 10-track album ‘Arping Against The Wind’? How much time did you spend on each track? Where can we download it?

It took me about a year to make the album. After the album was complete I showed it to people online asking how it was. I received some good feedback and what I can do to make it better. So after that, I started adding a few extra elements to songs and started mastering the tracks. You can find the album on my website: www.damonwall.com

7 – What was it like working with Alani Keiser on “Resurgence”? I’m assuming that was quite a big step as this is probably your first vocal track… Are you considering to produce new vocal tracks in the future?

Working with Alani Keiser was great very easy to communicate with and able to provide great lyrics and vocals. For new vocals what I am going to do with the next album I will be providing the vocal parts. I would just need lyrics.

8 – Is your latest track “Electro Emotion” influenced by a fusion of different music styles?

I’d say I was looking for something catchy or electronic pop. So to speak, I didn’t just want to show I can create songs in many different types of electronic music.

9 – How did you conceive the idea of founding your music business Damon Wall Enterprises? How can we stay in touch with you?

The main reason I created Damon Wall Enterprises was to be able to promote the music that I created. The way people can contact me is either by my website: www.damonwall.com and by Facebook: www.facebook.com/damonwallsmusic

10 – What keeps you going and motivated when life is not always easy?

Just staying positive, always thinking of ways to make life better. It is not an easy road I have been down but you just keep going and trying to do the best you can do no matter what. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it. “Strive for what you believe, don’t sit and dwell on the past”.
