Futuristic electronic music is the canvas for UK DJ and producer Jøsh‘s new EP, ‘Reality.’ He anticipates with open eyes an uncertain tomorrow where advanced artificial intelligence gains consciousness and completely changes life on Earth.
Most importantly, he released one track per day during ADE week via his label, OZØNE RCRDS. The entire material weaves together cinematic atmospherics and hard-hitting Bass within an interesting science fiction narrative.
Everything Gets Reshaped
Jøsh’s approach is pure transformation. He constructs synths from zero or grabs basic samples and obliterates them through pitch-shifting and warping until the original is gone.
To tell his story, he used computer-generated voices, treating them like any other sound effect in the mix.
Therefore, ‘Reality’ proves that futuristic electronic music can carry cinematic flair when every texture pushes the story forward. And I would dare to say it feels like the soundtrack to a movie with a dystopian context.

The Only 3 Tools He Actually Needs
He created his unique sonic world using just a few essential tools. The enigmatic soundscape, including all the big basslines and main melodies, comes from two powerful synths: Serum 2 and Spire.
But the real magic is what makes the music come across as alien and alive: Portal. This plugin warps sounds, making them shift and evolve as if they have a mind of their own.
And his true secret weapon is Little AlterBoy. Jøsh uses it to twist the Bass, giving it that creepy, “not quite human” quality, which is what makes his futuristic electronic music sound so distinct.

Total Independence, Zero Shortcuts
Jøsh handles everything solo: writing, producing, mixing, mastering. His workflow blends mixing with production, followed by a brief reset before final polish.
Moreover, his mastering setup is intentionally simple: he uses powerful compression (OTT) but carefully avoids squashing the Bass, then uses a “Glue Compressor” to hold all the layers together, sometimes adding a little extra warmth with Saturator.
The final step is Ozone Elements to widen the rhythm and make these bangers pop!
Conclusion
One way or another, this EP is a dimensional shift disguised as Bass music. And here’s the uncomfortable part: that cutting-edge reality isn’t some distant idea. It’s right around the corner.
Lastly, Jøsh didn’t predict anything; he just pressed play on what’s already in motion. To catch the next progression of his creative imagination and hear more epic beats, keep up with him on socials.
