You know the feeling: a spine-tingling, goosebump-inducing rush of lightness and power as if the whole world is – even if only for this moment – at your fingertips, and all you have to do is reach out and take it. The wordless sensation has been sonically embodied by enigmatic new artist justlikeu in his stunning single “electricity”, a captivating journey through downtempo bass, glittering melodies and hypnotizing vocals. Aiming to embody an element of the human experience with every release, justlikeu paints a vignette of vibrant energy, a rush of adrenaline and bittersweet hope with “electricity,” his second release ever after his debut “nocturnal animals”.

justlikeu explains how his musical experiment came to be, saying “I realized we all go through ups and downs, feel the highest highs and the lowest lows, have weird thoughts of self-doubt and wake up after partying all night and feel sad. That’s why this project is named ‘justlikeu,’ to try and remove the hands in the air DJ hype and embody the human experience.” In generation addicted to the blue-light glare of technology screens, serotonin rushes, and social media fame, justlikeu is an artist with a simple mission: channel emotions through music, so that we may realize that we are all more alike than we are different. Recognizing both, the positive and negative fundamental elements of human nature, his embodiment of everything from power, to joy and sadness are masterpieces in their ability to coax a catharsis from even the most closed of hearts. Come along for the ride as justlikeu sets about breaking the rules of expression and expectation through sound.
