25 year old Dave Scopes aka Kiyo was born in Dover, UK and very quickly discovers his own personal love for music and passion for sound. With all his productions this charismatic DJ/Producer invites people on the dancefloor on a journey, to tell them a story with his music. Kiyo perfectly knows how to transfer the energy of Deep and Tech House sounds straight onto the dancefloor in order to create a connection between DJ and crowd.
In his most recent EP entitled ‘Dissonance’ he features infectious and cool music influenced by Old School House and modern rhythms…
Here’s my track-by-track review:
1. The Interview I love the nostalgic 90s House music vibe to it. There’s a good combination of the vocals over the pulsating beats. This track makes you dance! It is refreshing and at the same time it brings back lovely memories because of its classic sound.
2. The Downlow This track showcase the artist afinity with electronic/atmospheric sounds. Here Kiyo reveals a more personnal and intimate sound, without losing the consistency of the rhythm. Enjoy the travel!
3. Dissonance The song has the same name as the EP, and it was designed for those deeper dance floor moments. Dark and melodic, Kiyo just went with the flow here and put no boundaries to what was coming out of the speakers! In conclusion, I believe Kiyo is definitely a producer to watch out for in the near future : – )
Kiyo has offered the first preview of its upcoming EP ‘Dissonance’, which you can hear below.
