“Mountain Meditation” is the latest collaboration between Grammy-nominated New Age artist Cheryl B. Engelhardt and Australian producer Gem Auset (aka GEM), and wow, it’s something special.
Ever wished you could capture the calm of sitting on a mountaintop? Well, these amazing women pretty much did it. And I can assure you, this song might just become your go-to relaxation anthem.
A Musical Journey to Tranquility
These soundscapes literally give you a moment of peace. Just by listening, you feel so relaxed that it’s almost impossible not to close your eyes and take a deep breath as the melody unfolds.
In addition, there are elements of nature woven throughout, with waterfalls gently rushing and birds calling in the distance. But what really pulls you in are the vocals. They bring an incredible vitality to the entire composition.
Born From Alpine Inspiration
You might be surprised where musical inspiration strikes. Cheryl B. Engelhardt found hers while spending a summer in Chamonix, France.
Imagine waking up every morning to a view of Mont Blanc (the highest peak in the Alps) and setting out on dawn hikes, pausing along the way just to sit, meditate, and listen to the stillness while the L’Arve River rushed by.
That being said, “Mountain Meditation” was inspired by three months of contrasts: peace vs. motion, rivers vs. mountains, conflict vs. hope. Moreover, this magical tune conveys that unique feeling of finding peace within tension, something we could all use a little more of, right?…

Let “Mountain Meditation” Bring You Calm
Believe it or not, the vocal melody was actually the first part that came to Cheryl while composing this piece. If you listen carefully, you can catch that sense of release in her voice, like the relief you feel after facing something tough.
Certainly, the delicate piano notes are minimalist and bring a calm vibe, exactly what you need to dive into some introspection. I think these little musical touches really enhance the overall atmosphere.
Most importantly, GEM’s production skills brought Cheryl’s composition to another realm. The textured layers she added elevate the emotional journey from start to end.
Together, they’ve created something that feels both grounded and expansive at the same time. So next time you’re feeling overwhelmed or just need a mental vacation to the mountains, let “Mountain Meditation” transport you. Your stress levels will thank you!
