Name that Tune
This is one of the simplest games that you can play and one that will delight your attendees. If you’re the kind of person that always has the name of a song on the tip of your tongue, this game will both delight and frustrate you.
All you need to do to get started is a group of friends and a great playlist. Pit the two teams head to head, giving single seconds of various songs and challenging them to name the song first. The winners are the ones that guess the most songs in the shortest space of time. Make sure you penalize teams for wrong guesses too!
Charades may seem like something you play with the kids at Christmas, but you can put a cool musical twist on it too. There are a few different ways that you can play this, depending on how involved you want it to be.
One way that you can play is just like regular Charades, place the names of songs in a hat, have teams draw from them and act them out to their team mates. The other route you could go down is to have the actual song playing, with the team mate wearing noise-canceling headphones so that they can’t hear what’s going on.
Either way, you choose, pick some good songs and your party will be off with a bang!
When you think party games, bingo might not always come to mind, but the musical version can be really fun. We’ll give you a quick rundown on how to play musical bingo right here to get you started. The first step is to make yourself some cards, or just print them off from the internet.
Then, set up a playlist filled with one genre of music and race to be the one to dab off all the tropes first. Be sure to have some excellent musical themed prizes for whoever bingos first!
This one will be great for those that have a wide musical knowledge. Pick a category, like dance music or songs that start with a certain letter, then have your contestants name them. Use a timer to make sure they only have two minutes, at first they’ll be able to list them off with ease but as the game goes on it gets a lot more difficult!
Next time you’re thinking of hosting a party, use these musical games to get your guests breaking the ice. They’re great for just about every occasion, no matter the gathering, and can add a real bit of fun to the proceedings.
