Following their ‘Protocol Grooves Pt. 1’ EP from 2020, Nicky Romero‘s Protocol Recordings is back with part deux of their underground-oriented, dancefloor-friendly release. Featuring five brand new tracks from familiar and up-and-coming artists, Part 2 leans heavily into the dark, tech-influenced realm of sounds, showcasing the label’s sonic diversity. Opening the mix is TWENTY SIX’s “Consequences,” a bouncy house jam with a catchy vocal riff to get you in the headspace to have a good time. Riding on tech-heavy basslines, Almero’s “Do Again” brings a dark progressive vibe into the mix, while GIORG & Santez’s “Tripwire” ups the ante with a fast-paced BPM that will make you want to lace up your dancing shoes. Twolate’s “Don’t You” incorporates sultry vocals and deep instrumentals to further heat up your night, while Ado Woodz & Ale Molinari’s “Lose Stress” rounds out the collection with tech-house influence and deep, driving basslines. If you’ve been craving a night out, turn “Protocol Grooves Pt.2” all the way up and let your imagination run wild.

Founded by Nicky Romero, Protocol Recordings is one of the leading imprints for innovative electronic dance music. It boasts a roster of heavy-hitters complemented with immensely talented up-and-comers such as Thomas Gold, Deniz Koyu, Teamworx, Futuristic Polar Bears, Marc Benjamin, Nicky Romero himself, DØBER, Trilane, Marcus Santoro, Tim van Werd, to name a few. All with a diverse range of sounds that are guaranteed to light up a dance floor. The label has cultivated a strong presence in the dance music scene from Miami Music Week to the Amsterdam Dance Event and beyond, consistently bringing good vibes and wild nights with beloved veterans and fresh faces in the live performance circuit. Although the global pandemic is preventing them from making their usual appearances this summer, Nicky and Protocol crew always have something up their sleeves. The “Protocol Grooves” EP series signifies a festival season gift to listeners. Expect more cutting-edge new music coming very soon!

On a side note, the international star DJ and producer will bring his signature electronic dance sound to a global audience on Friday, April 17th at 21.00 GMT by partnering with virtual streaming platform theCLUB.tv. In order to present the most immersive experience possible, Nicky Romero’s performance will be enhanced by theCLUB.tv’s augmented reality effects during the show on a track-by-track basis, putting fans at the heart of the gig. As one of the first artists to experiment with interactive technologies at concerts, Nicky sees TheCLUB.tv’s platform and their augmented reality as the simplest way to recreate an authentic event experience during the lockdown. This extraordinary performance follows the Protocol Recordings’ boss and veteran producer’s recent stream of releases, including his debut on Universal Music “Nights With You,” “Into The Light” with Timmo Hendriks ft. David Shane, “Back To You,” and remixes for the likes of Robin Schulz, Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren, to name a few.

TheClub.tv
‘s high-definition streaming brings fans at the centre of the DJ’s gig because they are also shown on screen in the audience or in groups in private rooms, so they can cheer on their friends through the platform itself. Unlike ‘one-to-many’ music streams in lockdown that alienate the DJ from their audience, fans can talk to the DJs and their friends in the platform’s main room or private rooms, instead of being obliged to make their fun by messaging each other separately during a streaming event. TheClub.tv is putting dance music fans back at the heart of live music.
