If you’re not listening to NINA‘s music yet, now’s the time to start. She’s definitely, an artist to watch in 2018. With the release of her debut album ‘Sleepwalking’, I immediately became a fan of the German singer. My admiration for her music is based on the Electro-Pop sound that provides pure nostalgic pleasure.
Well, I’m saying this because there’s an explosion of synths on each song that reminded me of some 80s artists. And don’t get me wrong, this is still modern and fresh, described appropriately by Millenials as the Synthwave genre.
However, above all this, I love her crystal-clear voice and the authentic lyrics.
The new album features a total of 10 tracks. Of course, my favorite one is “Sleepwalking”, the climax that reaches the chorus is extremely good, along with the dreamy retro sound. Amongst other songs, you will love the ballad-oriented atmosphere of “Counting Stars” and “It Kills Me”. Both of them connect listeners with the emotion that’s being expressed. In conclusion, this is more than just analog synths and drum machines. Feelings are involved, adopting a humanized approach, and that’s simply beautiful.
