Here you can read a short interview with the talented artist Oliver Ford. He was sincere and shared with us precise answers. If you want to know more about his personal feelings, perceptions, and opinions, then this is your opportunity to know more about himself!
1 – For our readers who have never heard your music, explain your sound in 5 words:
Happy. Dark. Upbeat. Big. Anthemic.
2 – Why did you become a singer?
I’ve been catching myself singing in the shower and in the halls for as long as I can remember. I don’t think it was even a choice really.
3 – What are the five things you can’t live without?
Music. A good suit. Chicago. Portillo’s. Exercise.
4 – If you could go open up for any artist on tour right now who would it be?
Twenty One Pilots. Hands down.
5 – What’s your favorite part about the process of writing music?
My favorite part about writing music is the chorus. The powerful chord progressions and melodies that really stick with you are my favorite.
6 – Tell us a bit about your new single “Always Alone”, Have you ever felt alone in a room full of people?
I feel alone in a room full of people ALL the time. It’s so ironic how, quite often, the more people I’m with, the more alone I feel. I’m hoping that others will realize that they aren’t the only ones who feel this way and that we can stick together just by knowing we’re feeling alone together.
7 – What anecdote can you share about your latest music video?
I think the most interesting part is that we filmed the fire hydrant scene on an empty floor of the Sears Tower in Chicago. I also used my favorite fabric store in LA, Mora’s Textiles, for one scene. I’m hoping there’s someone that can appreciate the unique take that I and Dgainz had in Chicago and LA, kind of creating our own world between the two cities.
8 – Ten years from now you will be…
Ten years from know I’m hoping to have taken the brand Oliver Ford to the international stage, and hopefully to have a few protégés to share my experience with.
9 – How do you mix your fashion design career with your music project?
Right now it’s just in the beginning stages, but in the future you can expect more and more crossover between my clothes and my music videos. Both of them are a crucial parts of the larger lifestyle brand that is, Oliver Ford
10 – If you could dabble in another genre of music, what would it be?
If I could make some music that was even sounded a bit more like a new TV on the Radio or Postal Service I’d be happy with myself.
