The “Carousel” music video by Willa Ford premiered two weeks ago, and it is serving full orchestral Pop realness. Trading synths for sweeping strings and cinematic drama, she is reclaiming the throne with a sound that feels less like a comeback and more like a coronation.
Without a doubt, it is quite different from her iconic 2000s hit “I Wanna Be Bad.” It’s also less danceable than her first 2026 single “Love4Life,” but carries a subtle elegance that hypnotizes from the very first second.
Check out the official video below to see why the internet is buzzing.
She Went Orchestral And It Just Makes Sense
“Carousel” is the second single from her upcoming album ‘amanda,’ named after her actual birth name. And that alone tells you everything about where her headspace is at.
Needless to say, this is personal, this is intentional, and the retro sounds are a choice, not a crutch!
Moreover, the visuals go full orchestral Pop with lush strings, cinematic quality, and tempo shifts that hit hard. I honestly have to ask why nobody pointed her in this direction twenty years ago…
At its core, “Carousel” is about the human experience of going in circles, the highs and lows, the moments where life feels completely out of your control, and you are just holding on for the ride.

The Beach Boys Comparison Is Very Real
She has cited the Beach Boys‘ music as a longtime influence, and once you hear “Carousel,” you completely get it. That same layered, emotionally overwhelming quality is all over this track.
Indeed, producer Vincent Ott clearly understood the assignment because the entire composition sounds like 1966 in the best possible way, but the vulnerability is very 2026.
Clearly, the orchestral Pop genre has been having a quiet little moment lately, and Willa Ford just walked in and made it feel like she owns the whole space.
