Back in the early 2000s, Swedish Electro Pop duo The Knife gained notoriety with many releases including “Heartbeats”. Today, time has gone by, and Oxen Butcher reshapes this classic with his unique touch and the participation of Syon on vocals. Propelled by an acoustic melody, piano solos, and fresh electronic beats, Oxen’s version produces immediate gratification. Personally, I think his new single outstands for its organic/relaxing nature in contrast to the original which feels more synthy. Once he reached the highest position at the Chill Out charts on Beatport. With “Heartbeats”, it seems he’s following the same approach. Plus, I have no doubt he will succeed again.
