LISTEN NOW: Phocust Shares Bass-Heavy Two-Track EP, ‘Space Wonk’

Published

on

Phocust
Tyler Shiffer aka Phocust has dropped a new EP in collaboration with producers Dyatic and Nasty Purple. These creative minds approach these tunes with bass-heavy drops and loud Dubstep as you would like them to be. Both cuts “Space Wonk” and “Mind Reader” show their willingness to deliver overwhelming energy that surely pumps through your veins. I know it all depends on your mood, but in my case, this is the type of music that makes me wanna get up and move.

Sonically, it’s intense on different levels, the first track is purely instrumental, and the other one uses the power of vocals. Not for nothing, this EP is on high rotation on radio stations and clubs alike. Having performed at important festivals like HeavenFest, Global Dance Festival, and WinterFest, it is fair to say they are receiving a lot of support from the dance music community lately. Listen to the ‘Space Wonk’ EP below.

heavy dubstep music MARAUDA
This heavy Dubstep single called “AVOIDABLE CAUSE” is literally a dancefloor bomb. When you hear MARAUDA‘s music for the first time, you get a sense of adrenaline rushing through your veins. Naturally, the aggressive basslines get your heart pumping and your feet moving. Interestingly enough, under the former alias Mastadon, he started producing Bass music at the early age of 16.

Stream/Download

Speaking of his career, the young Australian artist has a strong fanbase in America. The joy of DJing at Global Dub Festival, Lost Lands, Bass Canyon, Ubbi Dubbi, and headlining a tour marked his life positively. Probably, his most notable milestone to date is his debut EP, ‘MALIGNANT’, where he exposes his signature rapacious sounds. His reputation has been built on intense drops and prominent wobbles. “AVOIDABLE CAUSE” is just an appetizer for his next explosive bangers. Today, MARAUDA is on the mission to reinvent the heavy Dubstep genre, so stay alert for more releases on his socials down below.

Best New Dubstep Song Of 2020, “Find My Way” By JAD3D

Published

on

JAD3D Find My Way
For sure, this is the best new Dubstep song of 2020. I’m referring to JAD3D‘s hottest release on Careless Records, called “Find My Way”. You will be very stoked once you hear energetic drops and the melodic voice of Alley Parton. Get lost in with such singable verse lines straight away. What’s more, if you’re feeling the melancholic sensation on this track, then that’s a good sign as the artist has served its purpose.

The super chill piano intro + the splashing of raindrops give a clue this is not the typical track with generic Dubstep beat drum or wobbles on repeat. Actually, “Find My Way” is quite the opposite as the Chicago-based producer showcases a solid sound design and lyrical base that exudes so many emotions. The production quality is insane, so I think it deserves to top the electronic music charts anytime soon. Without further ado, expect JAD3D to continue to gain momentum in the Bass scene. It would be a crime if you forget to hit the play button down here. Enjoy it.

“WAKE UP”, The New Effort From JAD3D & Demitri Medina Via Careless Records

Published

on

JAD3D
Who doesn’t like dark and melodic beats? JAD3D‘s properly titled single “WAKE UP”, released via Careless Records, really gave me a buzz. Trust me, it feels like a new strain of Dubstep that’s accompanied by passionate vocals from Demitri Medina, which brim with emotive impact. With this in mind, this piece is not based solely on wobble bass and electrifying synths. Conversely, the hard-hitting lyrics also carry a deep message.

Inspired by a life story of how recovery can take you down a certain path, this tune provides a moment of reflection. In terms of sound and approach, it dabbles in uplifting dynamics. It becomes crystal clear, that the softness and loudness of the music are the fuel behind this banger. In some way, “WAKE UP” bears a certain resemblance to those classic Pop-Punk/Emo hits that all 2000s kids used to love. However, instead of guitars, here you have heavy bass-driven tones and big drops. Do us a favor and take a listen below. You’ll thank us after.

GG Magree's New Single "Nervous Habits," Ft. Alt-Punk Singer Joey Fleming
Australian powerhouse GG Magree teams up with In Her Own Words lead singer Joey Fleming on “Nervous Habits”. Magree’s sonic ambition is on full display, as she duets tight hooks over melodic Dubstep instrumentation. Although GG Magree has made a name for herself through her raucous bass music, “Nervous Habits” showcases a vulnerable side through personal, refined lyrics. Both GG and Joey flex their singing chops on the single, balancing honeyed lines with angst-ridden verses that roll off like a conversation between a star-crossed couple. A deep synth bass lurks beneath the vocals, which drops into a heavy and intense breakdown that feels like wading through the darkness of this particular relationship. Together Magree and Fleming fuse raw emotion, breathtaking vocals, and bone-shaking bass to create a powerful Dim Mak debut.

“Everyone has that one love that they can’t break away from… ‘Nervous Habits’ is a story about mine.” – GG Magree

GG’s indisputable talent as a DJ, producer, and singer/songwriter has made her a triple threat in the electronic music industry. She first made waves in 2016 with her vocal debut “Frontlines,” in collaboration with NGHTMRE & Zeds Dead, which has amassed over 28M streams on Spotify alone. GG is also well known for her reload-worthy remix of Billie Eilish’s “Wish You Were Gay,” in addition to original singles like “I Wanna Lose You,” “Ghost” with Jauz, and “Flatline” alongside Sullivan King. In her native Australia and beyond, Magree has become a highly sought after artist known for bringing electric energy to audiences worldwide; by far the best way to experience GG is at a live show. She has graced the stage with the likes of Pharrell, DJ Snake, Wu-Tang Clan, Zeds Dead, Virtual Self, Iggy Azalea, NGHTMRE, and many more.

Joey Fleming is the lead singer of the American alt-punk band In Her Own Words, based in Los Angeles. With roots in the underground punk rock scene, Fleming packs high intensity and angst into heartfelt lyrics and melodies to make his listeners feel what he feels. He was introduced to creating and writing at a very young age, which has allowed him to evoke unparalleled passion and unique personality within his music. Fleming has released multiple EPs and albums via In Her Own Words since 2013 and now is breaking into the electronic scene with his feature on “Nervous Habits.”
