Above all, I think it’s so important to have more Latin artists putting out lesbian anthems like this. For instance, last year, the world discovered the extraordinary talent of La Cruz, who is the first openly gay Reggaeton artist I know so far.

To sum up, representation does matter because it means a lot to see people like us in the media and music. Growing up, I didn’t see many Latin acts embracing that side of their identity and it can make a person feel like they have to choose between their culture and who they love.

Luckily, the world is changing for the better when it comes to LGBT+ visibility, but I still think we need to come together more than ever today to keep moving forward and protecting our rights.
