Marcus Santoro refreshes the melodic trance sound for Protocol Recordings with his new single “Blackout” ft. Lauren L’aimant. Santoro artistically leverages influences from progressive house, big room, and trance genres, which delivers gracefully undulating melodies, an uptempo BPM, and ethereal vocals. “Blackout” evokes the feeling of flying or floating, much like the trance tracks we grew to know and love in the early 2000s. This is Santoro’s second release on Nicky Romero’s imprint, following his debut “Shine” last year in collaboration with Sentinel. Full of energy and emotion, “Save You” is probably one of the best songs ever produced by Trance master Richard Durand. Without a doubt, Christina Novelli‘s killer vocals make listeners’ hearts sing. Beyond this, the whole composition feels already like an uplifting anthem. Actually, fans of the Dutch Producer have described it as the tune of the year. Nevertheless, in my opinion, the new lyric video looks pretty basic, as it approaches a boring minimalist style. Despite this, “Save You” does not cease to be amazing. Frankly, the blistering melody and powerful synth blasts are epic. Sooner or later, I bet you will be playing this wonderful tune on repeat mode.

If I’m not mistaken, Armin van Buuren is taking a mainstream Dance-Pop direction as Tiësto. Honestly, I’m feeling surprised that he just put out a single under his new alias Rising Star. More specifically, I’m talking about, “Cosmos”, a collaboration with Romanian singer Alexandra Badoi, which is pure Trance goodness. Nevertheless, there’s a lot of confusion nowadays as his fans believe he will leave his trademark sound to adapt to music industry changes. In my opinion, old-school Armin is so fucking good there’s no reason to depart from a music style that made him famous within the electronic music community. Anyways, the stunning melody of “Cosmos” is literally uplifting. Definitely, we were waiting for a fresh hit like this in years.
