Who is Soraya Ocean?
At the tender age of 6, Soraya grew up expressing a huge interest in acting and singing. Blessed with her gifts, she was provided many opportunities to display her talents while performing live musicals in front of a captivated school audience. These life changing experiences became a catalyst to strengthening her love and passion for music. Soraya evolved into a musical “boom box” always entertaining her family and friends by singing the likes of music icons such as: Whitney Houston, Madonna, and Michael Jackson. She continued her pursuit and musical aspirations throughout her teenage years, writing her own lyrics daily while learning to play the piano. After graduating from High School, Soraya attended the élite Berklee College of Music where she studied and achieved her Bachelors of Music. During her time at Berklee, Soraya discovered her life purpose and career path by reaching out to musical colleagues and eventually collaborating with bands like “Livewire,” “Boston Common Band,” and “Internal Affairs.”
Soraya’s unbelievable vocals and ability to play piano landed her a spot in the group, “Those Bloody Yanks.” She immediately stood out, based on her dynamic performances and riveting vocals, which kept the audience enchanted and inspired in “the moment.” Armed with lyrical “bullets,” Soraya made the game changing decision of her career when she decided to pursue music full time and focus on herself as a solo artist. She is a huge supporter of Indie Artists like herself and would love for artists to have more relevant exposure in the industry.
