My Top 5 Favorite Artists Who Should Sing Bond 25 Theme Song

I grew up watching 007 films in a Betamax. Without a doubt, those old-school signature tunes from the Roger Moore era are still memorable to date. Fortunately, there are brilliant artists who can emulate that elegant style to the Bond 25 theme song. The upcoming movie, ‘No Time To Die’ will be released in cinemas on April 3rd, 2020. People still have no clue who will provide the vocals to the next opening number, but I will be very happy if Barbara Broccoli considers my top 5 favorite artists for this special mission.

1 – Shirley Bassey

Of course, dame Shirley Bassey is my number one option. Personally, I really admire her powerful vocals and the way she adds a touch of romanticism to the bond themes. I don’t care if she’s 82-year-old, this talented woman deserves to sing again for the legendary franchise. I’m pretty sure she can create another hit like Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, or Moonraker.

2 – Sophie Ellis Bextor

Sophie Ellis Bextor’s classy British accent makes her a good choice to sing ‘No Time To Die’ theme song. An underrated talent with a seductive voice that will make anyone fall in love with her.  Some years ago, she performed Carly Simon’s “Nobody Does It Better” in front of hundreds of people, and the result speaks for itself.

3 -Róisín Murphy

Apart from her diva-esque style, Róisín also has the proper contralto vocal range to create one of the sexiest tunes in the series. While it is true she hasn’t made many ballads, I’m sure her voice fits so well with gentle piano lines and violins. Her voice is crying out to be played over the 007 titles.

4 – Pet Shop Boys

Actually, there are some rumors that the duo was in charge to compose the soundtrack for the Living Daylights back in the 80s. I still think they can do a brand new theme with modern synths and electronic beats. Best of all, these legends know how to deliver emotionally charged lyrics like none other.

5 – Jake Shears

When Jake was the lead singer of the Scissor Sisters, he dropped a track entitled “Land Of A Thousand Words” inspired by James Bond. One of my favorite songs they’ve done and probably the best 007 song that never was. Funnily, it came out the same year as Casino Royale in 2006, so, I don’t understand why the production team ignored this top-notch band for a theme.
