Known globally as one of dance music’s most explosive performers, Timmy Trumpet steps into a more emotionally driven phase with the release of “Not A Place” featuring Oaks. Arriving as his first release in over six months, the single follows a rare period in which Timmy pulled back from putting out new music, reassessing both his sound and perspective.
Built around Oaks’ haunting vocal, “Not A Place” captures a feeling that is deeply personal yet widely relatable, pairing heartbreak, absence, and emotional vulnerability with the kind of large-scale energy that has always defined Timmy’s records, here elevated by layered, harmonised horns in a way only he can deliver.
The release also arrives at a time of major personal change for Timmy, who recently confirmed his separation from his long-term partner of over a decade – an experience that has played a defining role in shaping the tone of this new material. Bringing the record to life is Oaks, the project of Swedish singer-songwriter Winona Oak, whose work with Martin Garrix, Tiesto, Robin Schulz, The Chainsmokers, BUNT. and more has established her as one of electronic music’s most compelling collaborators.
With “Not A Place,” Timmy Trumpet makes it clear that his next chapter will not be defined by energy alone, but by greater depth, intention, and a renewed connection to his artistry.
“This is the most vulnerable I’ve ever felt sharing my music with the world. Everything I release this year, every lyric, every beat, every record, is coming from a real place. It’s personal, and it’s probably not what people expect. There’s nothing I love more than collaborating with artists who deeply understand the complexity of emotion. Winona [Oaks] was able to capture what I was going through in real life with a level of depth and sensitivity that’s incredibly rare. What she’s done with ‘Not A Place’ is pure poetry.” — Timmy Trumpet
