The Top 3 Essential Components to a Successful DJ Brand

Published

on

dj-brandOne thing that really makes a difference in being an entrepreneur, an artist and being successful at it is having an incredible brand. Yes, we know that the top DJs like Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold and Armin van Buuren have carefully curated brands. However, you should too!

They are ensured that their fans understand what they’re about and what it means to stand by them. Think of your favorite DJ and his brand. Can you identify what they stand for? Is it clear to you? Do you get the same experience everywhere you go that’s connected to them? From their concerts, to their websites, their social media, etc., Are you seeing the same visuals, designs and hearing the same music?

Well, that’s because they have these 3 key components that make their brand stick in the minds of their fans.

1. Clarity

You need to know who you are, what you stand for and be able to communicate that in a way that your fans GET it.

2. Consistency

Your clear message needs to be the same everywhere your fans come in contact with you (these are called brand touch points). You can’t have a chaotic brand. People won’t latch onto chaos. Think of the consistency in Armin van Buuren’s brand for his lastest videoclips.

3. Authenticity

You have to represent YOU at every turn. People can and do identify a phony. Remember David Guetta‘s fake American accent? He’s from France.

Remember when people thought Drake wasn’t being himself because he was a sensitive rapper that talked about love and heartbreak. but then he signed with Young Money?

People will always call you out if you‘re not being authentic. It damages your leadership and your ability to create loyal fans among your brand.

Your fans are also your customers, so you need them to be repeat shoppers and bring their friends.
